Hours after a set of Battlefield 1 images leaked online, EA and DICE confirmed that the next Battlefield game is indeed named Battlefield 1 and will be released on October 21, 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The announcement was made during the official reveal stream on Twitch, which was followed by a blog post offering even more details about the game.
So, the action in the game will take place during the WW1, and according to EA it features the “most dynamic battles in FPS history”.
Some of the locations included in the game are the Arabian Desert, France and Italy. Furthermore there will be battles on land, sea and air.
“Tanks, planes, machine guns, artillery – a lot of the tech you’ve used in other Battlefield games was perfected during this era, letting the classic Battlefield DNA shine through.” EA announced.
The game is also more focused on melee, thus expect to wield rapiers and spiked batons. The multiplayer mode comes with a Persistent Squad System which allows 4 players to form a group and enter matchmaking together.
This will ensure that they will stay together throughout the whole mission. EA also announced two editions of Battlefield 1.
First is the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition available for $79.99, and second is the Battlefield 1 Collector’s Edition which costs $219.99.
Yes! You got that right. $219.99 and can be pre-ordered right now.
All pre-orders will receive the Harlem Hellfighter Pack and seven day early access during which you can access one of the game’s maps. Battlefield 1 will be present at E3 2016, where you can test it during EA’s Play event, while an open beta will be available starting August 31.
