Vitalina Batsarashkina Brings the Witcher to Rio 2016

Vitalina Batsarashkina Brings the Witcher to Rio 2016

Earlier this week, Vitalina Batsarashkina from Russia placed second in the women’s 10m air pistol final at the Olympic games in Rio.

Now, we know what you are thinking. Ok! Congrats! But why am I reading this on a website for video games?

Well, because Vitalina Batsarashkina is without any doubt a great shooter, but she is also a big fan of the Witcher.

How do we know this you ask?

We know it because she literally brought the Witcher with her in the final. Take a look.

We don’t know the exact name of the thingy she has on her left eye, so we will call it the eye patch. Did you notice it?

Great! Now take a closer look.

But that’s not all. While the drawing/sticker on the eye patch could represent only a random wolf, this medallion is clearly an item only a true Witcher fan will wear.

In fact, this medallion is almost identical if not the same as the one included in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Collector’s Edition. You can buy one for yourself from Amazon for $26.99.

Furthermore, Vitalina Batsarashkina had a second drawing made on her glasses, but this one is from Alice Madness Returns, or American McGee’s Alice. You can see it below.

So, who said that only nerds play video games? Looks like Olympians play them as well!

Congrats Vitalina Batsarashkina on your silver medal from all gamers around the world!
