The Witness, is a puzzle video game developed and published by Thekla and was originally released on January 26, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
Since its release, Xbox One users kept asking when The Witness will become available on their favorite platform.
The answer to this question came this week from Jonathan Blow, the game creator of The Witness, in an interview for IGN.
According to Blow, the Xbox One version of The Witness will be available starting September 13, 2016, and it will not be different from the PS4 and PC versions released earlier this year.
“There are some technical differences, but it’s basically the same game” Blow told IGN.
Additionally, Blow confirmed that there will be no platform-exclusive content in the game:
“I feel like that would kind of… mess up the game.”
But there is more than that. Thekla is also working on an iOS version of the game, although there is no release date set at this point.
While the content remains unchanged, Blow explained why development for the mobile version takes time.
“It’s such a lower-end platform and we have to redo a ton of stuff.”
The Witness is one of the video games that managed to impress even if it’s developed by a smaller company.
The Witness was inspired by Myst, a 1993 game published by Brøderbund.
Players are sent on an unnamed island where they have to solve a large number of puzzles in order to complete the final goal.
There are over 650 puzzles in the game and according to the game’s creator 1 of them is so hard that less than 1% of the players will manage to solve.
Without using any help from guides that is…
If you didn’t try this game, now it’s your chance especially because starting September you can also play it on Xbox One. Check out the official trailer below.
