Did you miss the Overwatch beta, or are you still wondering if it’s worth buying Blizzard’s multiplayer first-person shooter? You are in luck, because you will be able to test it for free in September.
In an attempt to gain new players, or help those who didn’t have the chance to try Overwatch, Blizzard announced that they will hold a free weekend allowing everyone to try the game they released on May 24, 2016.
The free Overwatch weekend will be available only on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which means that if you have one of these platforms you are ready to go; however, there is a “small” requirement.
While PlayStation 4 owners don’t need a PS Plus subscription to play Overwatch during the free weekend, Xbox One players will need an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
Blizzard also announced that while playing the video game on the two platforms, trophies and achievements will be disabled, as well as the Competitive Play.
On the other hand, if you wish to try the game for free you will have access to all heroes, and you can test almost every game mode, including Quick Play, Weekly Brawl or Custom Games.
All progress during the Overwatch free weekend, such as Loot Boxes acquired and leveling up, will be recorded and transferred if you decide to buy the game.
The free weekend starts Friday, September 9, 2016 (11:00am PDT), and it will end Monday, September 12, 2016 (4:00 p.m. PDT).
