While Blizzard is hosting a free Overwatch weekend starting today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Deep Silver announced that will allow all Steam users full access to Homefront: The Revolution.
The free Homefront: The Revolution Steam weekend begins today September 9, 2016 and it will end September 11, 2016 at 9 P.M.
There are no additional fees to be paid, and all you need is a Steam account. During the free weekend, you will get access to the full game, including the single-player campaign as well as the co-op missions from Resistance Mode.
Head over to the Homefront: The Revolution page on Steam, create a Steam account (if you don’t have one already) and start downloading.
If you are fast enough, and dedicate the entire weekend to the game, you will probably be able to finish the story.
Deep Silver, the publisher of Homefront: The Revolution announced that the free weekend aims to showcase the improvements made by Dambuster Studios to the game.
These improvements were introduced by the latest patch which fixed a large number of frame-rate problems.
It is an open-world first person shooter which sends players to 2029. The whole story takes place in Philadelphia, a city occupied by the Korean People’s Army.
You will assume the role of Ethan Brady, a member of the Resistance who has to fight against the oppression of the KPA, and eventually free the civilians living in fear.
Even if the game received mixed reviews after its release, you should still try it, considering it’s free to play for two days.
If you enjoy it, you can opt to buy it later on Steam or if you prefer the physical version of the game you can get the Standard Homefront: The Revolution version for $21.14 , down from $39.99.
So, it looks like it’s going to be an awesome weekend for gamers, with two free games to test. The only problem is that unless you can play both of them at the same time and on different platforms, you will have to pick one.
