Now that the hype on Sony’s latest PlayStation 4 models is almost over, it’s time to decide whether you should upgrade your old PlayStation 4 to a slimmer version, or you should go all in and get the PlayStation 4 Pro model.
Obviously it’s a difficult to make decision, as all decisions that involve money; however, before rushing towards the first store to buy the PS4 Pro, you should ask yourself if it’s really worth getting one.
Besides the fact that you will have to pay a considerable amount of money for the console alone, there is also a number of accessories you might want or need.
Some of them already work with your old PS4, while others work with the PS4 Slim and Pro but you won’t be able to use them with the original PlayStation 4.
Let’s take a closer look at the accessories you can buy along with a brand new PlayStation 4 Pro or PlayStation 4 Slim.
New Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller
The new Dualshock 4 Wireless controller is compatible with all PS4 models (including PlayStation 4 Pro), and while it may look familiar if you already own a PlayStation 4, there are some new features available.
The most important is the light you see on the touchpad. This light, according to Sony, will help you during gaming sessions by providing additional information such as your character’s health for example.
The new PlayStation 4 Dualshock controller, also comes with a new shape for improved ergonomics although you won’t be able to see this change in the image below.
If you are a gamer who spends a lot of time playing, this is a must buy along with a new console, mainly because it is well known that PlayStation 4 controllers consume a lot of energy very fast.
Having two controllers allows you to switch between them while playing.
You can get a new PlayStation 4 Dualshock controller for $48.14 without shipping, from Amazon.
New Platinum Wireless Headset
Next, we have the PlayStation 4 Platinum Wireless Headset which started shipping November 7, 2016 and costs $159.99.

The headset comes with noise-cancelling microphones and uses Sony’s 3D audio technology in order to provide positional 7.1 virtual surround sounds.
Furthermore, the PlayStation 4 Platinum Wireless Headset is compatible with the PSVR and most mobile devices.
New PlayStation 4 Camera
Third, we have the new PlayStation 4 Camera you can pre-order right now.
The only differences between this model and the previous one, are its design and price, meaning that the new camera is cylindrical and costs $39.49.
The price for the older PlayStation 4 camera model starts at $50.00 on Amazon, and just like its successor is compatible with all PlayStation 4 models and with PS VR.

If you have a vertical stand for your old PlayStation 4 model, you will have to sell it in case you wish to buy a PS4 Slim or Pro, because you won’t be able to use it anymore.
The latest PlayStation 4 vertical stand is compatible only with the Pro and Slim models.
For the new PlayStation 4 Slim and Pro stand you will have to pay $29.99 on Amazon.
Finally, we have the PlayStation VR which is also the most expensive. For the PS VR alone you will pay $399 and it was already listed on Amazon .
What you should know however is that the PS VR requires a PlayStation Camera, and while you can use the normal DualShock controller, you will probably want to buy two PlayStation Move motion controllers.
Amazon; however, also listed a PlayStation VR Bundle you can buy. This bundle includes the PS VR headset, two motion controllers, a PlayStation Camera and a PlayStation VR Worlds Game Disc.
The PlayStation VR is also compatible with PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 4 Slim and the original PlayStation 4 model.
