The Romanian online store Altex listed Nintendo’s Switch gaming console for $327, and is now accepting pre-orders from Romania.
The store’s pre-order page which you can see here, doesn’t offer too much information on the console’s specs, but it does reveal that Nintendo Switch pre-orders will be delivered starting March 31, 2017.
Since the price of the console as well as the release date have not been officially confirmed by Nintendo, you should take the following details with a grain of salt.
Because of our location, we are able to translate the whole page for you and also discuss about the price listed by Altex Romania for Nintendo Switch (former NX).
In the upper right corner of the picture above you can see that Altex is selling a Nintendo Switch for 1.349,90 LEI.
This price converts to $327 at today’s rate: 1 RON (LEU) = 0.2425 (USD). If this price is true, it means that the Nintendo Switch will cost 299 EUR, 269 GBP, 431 AUD, or 438 CAD.
The price listed by the online store; however, also includes import taxes, which are quite big in Romania.
In the same picture, just below the price you can see the release date of Nintendo Switch (Data Lansare): 31.03.2017.
Again, we are not sure how Altex Romania set the price for Nintendo Switch, or how they know that the console will release on March 31. When we asked for additional details, they didn’t answer.
If you access the listing page and move to the specs tab (Specificatii in Romanian) you should see the following (translated from Romanian to English):
Caracteristici generale – General Information
Tip consola: Nintendo Switch – Console type: Nintendo Switch
Tip media: Slot card – Media type: Card Slot
Informatii suplimentare – Additional Information
Facilitati: Consola portabila – Capabilities: Portable console
Accesorii: 2 controllere – Accessories: 2 controllers
It’s interesting that Altex didn’t update the fields with the size of the Nintendo Switch screen, but is listing the console with 2 controllers (see below).
Even if Altex is the largest online store in Romania, it doesn’t mean that they can’t make mistakes, but if the price is true, are you willing to pay around $300 or 300 Euro for a Nintendo Switch?
