One of the main characters in Injustice: Gods Among Us, Batman can be accessed during the first chapter of the Story Mode, alongside other playable superheroes and one of his biggest rivals, The Joker.
As a character in the video game developed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and iOS based devices; Batman is a Gadget User who relies on his fighting techniques and gadgets, since he doesnt have any superpowers.
Nevertheless, Batman is a redoubtable character in the video game, recommended to new players. He can perform a vast number of combo attacks and special moves, most of them being close attacks.
His weak points are the ranged attacks, which are limited and dont inflict a high amount of damage. Because of this, he can be defeated faster by characters who keep him at distance, one example being Green Arrow.
The Story Mode begins with a short cutscene showing a devastated Metropolis. In the interrogation room, Batman tries to find out how Joker got his hands on a nuclear bomb. Eventually Superman enters the cell looking for answers from Joker who tricked him.
The loss of his beloved Lois Lane and the jokes made by The Clown Prince of Crime only increase the tension, and Superman losses control, impaling The Joker.
Moments later, a new cutscene starts showing some of the worlds greatest superheroes and villains fighting each other.
The action takes place Elsewhere prior the events of the first cutscene. While Superman faces Ares, Sinestro is chased by Green Lantern, and Cyborg accompanied by Nightwing fight against Lex Luthor and Solomon Grundy.
In the meantime, Batman travels to the prison where Joker is being held captive, and where Lex Luthor sent Deathstroke to assassinate the Dark Knight.
After Batman defeats Deathstroke, the action moves back to the Justice League’s Watchtower where Hawkgirl fights Doomsday helped by Green Lantern, Green Arrow, The Flash and Superman.
Batman returns to the Watchtower but Bane, one of his nemeses is sent by Luthor to kill him.
Since Bane fails to accomplish his mission, Luthor tries his luck with The Caped Crusader, but he is defeated shortly after.
Eventually, Luthor admits that The Joker got the nuke from him, in order to destroy Metropolis, so Luthor can rebuild the city as he wishes.
Suddenly an alarm is turned on and all superheroes are teleported by Cyborg to a park where Harley Quinn and Joker try to install the nuclear device. Batman and his companions rush forward to stop The Joker from activating the bomb, but all characters are teleported to a parallel universe, where Superman established his Regime.
As soon as Batman reaches the new Metropolis, he has to defeat The Joker. The fight ends with both characters surrounded by Supermans soldiers who try to arrest them. Using one of his gadgets Batman escapes, and The Joker uses the same opportunity to sneak away.
From the rooftops Batman watches the changes Superman made to Metropolis, realizing that he is in a nightmare.
For finishing the Injustice: Gods Among Us Classic Battle Mode as Batman, an alternative ending reveals the events that occur after Batman defeated Superman.
Using Luthors fortune, Bruce Wayne restored the city and he became its benefactor, idolized by citizens who adopted the slogan We are Batman.
