Sniper Elite 4 Has New Screenshots But Is Delayed To 2017

Rebellion, the studio working on Sniper Elite 4, announced Monday that the latest installment in the Sniper Elite series will be released February 14, 2017 instead of 2016.

The game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Additional details are offered by Robbie Cooke on Rebellion’s official blog.

“When we originally revealed the game back in March, our plan was to release this year, and this was only reinforced when our pre-Alpha build was received incredibly well by those who got to see it at GDC in San Francisco.

So when we sat down recently to decide a launch date, we had a decision to make. Do we stick to 2016 as planned many moons ago, or do we give the team just a little more time to help them deliver beyond the promise that the game has already shown, to hone the game’s best features, or even add new ones that previously might have been left on the cutting-room floor?

It wasn’t an easy decision but for us it seems like a win-win for both Rebellion and Sniper Elite fans.”

Sniper Elite 4 sends players back to 1944, during the World War Two. The action takes place after the events from Sniper Elite 3, but in Italy.

The main character is Karl Fairburne, who is working as an agent for the Office of Strategic Services.

While this delay may or may not be something good, Rebellion provided a series of screenshots to make the announcement easier to digest by their fans. You can see them below.
