If you are a Borderlands fan who is not interested in playing Titanfall 2 or Battlefield 1 this weekend, Microsoft has a big surprise ready, granting you access to Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for free on Xbox One.
If you wonder what’s the catch…well there is none, and you can start downloading the collection right now without having to pay for it.
It is however unknown how long this offer will last, because it is part of Microsoft’s Multiplayer All-Access event which runs this weekend. Additionally, it looks like this offer is available only for European accounts.
Since both games in Borderlands: The Handsome Collection include a multiplayer mode, we are not sure what will happen Monday when the event ends. You might be asked to pay in order to continue playing, or, the games will remain yours forever.
What’s interesting is that Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is still $59.99 on PlayStation 4, while on Xbox Marketplace there are two versions available. The second one is free, and the first one costs $24.00 (down from $59.99).
Assuming you wish to get a free copy of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection this weekend, here is what you need to do:
1. Start your console and login to your account.
2. Go to the Store tab in the upper section of your screen.
3. Now, click on the Search button below the featured games section.
4. Type Handsome Collection in the search field.
5. Select the second result, because for the first one you need to pay $24.00.
6. Now, click Get and wait until the download ends.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection includes both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!, and it was released March 27, 2015 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Both titles feature remastered graphics, and they run at 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second.
Furthermore, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection comes with all DLCs previously released for these titles, and supports a four-player split screen multiplayer mode.
So, there you have it. You can now play Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on Xbox One for free, and even if the offer will be available only for this weekend, it’s still worth downloading if you wish to spend some quality time with Claptrap, “the Fragtrap”.
