Margot’s Disappearance is a Witcher 2 side-quest also available in the games enhanced edition released for Xbox 360.
It is a very short side-quest, which is activated while playing the main-quest called Where is Triss Merigold?, during the first act.
Margot’s Disappearance begins when Geralt interrogates Derae about the things she saw through the peephole inside one of the rooms at the inn.
The quest can be completed almost immediately, allowing players to earn additional experience points.
Quest Description
“Geralt looked for any sign of Triss in Siles room and soon realized the room was being spied from the neighboring brothel through a peephole in the wall. He rushed to the pleasure den and met Derae, a prostitute who, just like Madame Margot was into voyeurism.
With a little encouragement, the lady told him everything she managed to espy, but whenever the most important matters were discussed in Siles room, Margot was the one at the peephole.
Worried about the fate of the honorable matron, I ran over to the lower levels as fast as I could, not carrying whether the Witcher followed me.
When to start
Immediately after activation, before you finish Where is Triss Merigold?
Walkthrough
All you have to do, to complete this quest, is to enter the inns basement and find Margots chamber.
Follow the stairs to the basement, and reach the whorehouse.
Margots chamber is the first one to the right.
Unfortunately, you will find her hanged, probably because she saw something she shouldn’t have seen.
At her feet is Margots Farewell Letter. Make sure you take it on your way out, and then focus on the main quest, regarding Triss.
