Blood of His Blood is a short main quest featured in the Prologue of Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition.
The quest follows Geralds story during his interrogation by Vernon Roche.
Blood of His Blood starts after the main-quest called To the Temple.
Completing the last quest allows you to return to the interrogation room, and tell Roche what happened after you have entered the courtyard with King Foltest.
To begin this quest, when Roche tells you to continue your story, tell him that It all started with Tailles.
You will follow Foltest and see him arguing with Arthur Tailles, who was sentenced to death, then pardoned by the Baroness.
You will find that the bastards are in the solar. If you wish you can slap Tailles since he is a rude character.
Now, follow Foltest and Roche towards the solar. When you cross the bridge the black dragon returns. Quickly cross the bridge and help Foltest.
Make sure you step out when you reach the larger areas, so you can avoid the dragons breath. Continue to move forward until you get to the large gate that shuts behind you. Unfortunately Roche wont make it to the other side, and you will lose your silver sword.
When you enter the solar, explore the first chamber then follow Foltest to the next floor. During the next cutscene, you will see Foltests bastards guarded by a blind monk. You will be asked to wait outside while Foltest talks to his kids.
After the bastards leave the chamber, the monk tells Foltest to thank the gods for his victory.
Pay close attention during the next sequences, and you will see the monk assassinating Foltest. If you look into his eyes, you will notice the signs of a witcher.
The assassin quickly jumps through the window while the king hits the ground murdered. Seconds later, the guards appear and you end up in chains. Thats why you have been arrested and interrogated by Vernon.
When you return to the interrogation room, tell Roche that you are not a murderer, and then when he asks you what would you do, make sure your answer is: Id hunt down the killer.
After a long conversation with Roche, some of your memories start to return. Because of the answer you gave earlier, a new side-quest was activated: Returning Memories.
Roche agrees to help you escape the prison and he gives you the key to open your chains. Blood of His Blood ends here, and you will start the next quest called The Dungeons of the La Valettes.
