Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition Character Guide: Dan

Dan Hibiki or simply Dan is another Street Fighter playable character available in SSF4 Arcade Edition.

Capcom introduced Dan in Street Fighter Alpha and he is considered by many to be a joke character because of his comic quotes and weak moves.

However, in Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, players will observe that Dan’s moves were upgraded by developers, but Dan remains an arrogant fighter.

Born in Hong Kong, Dan Hibiki weights 163 lbs, he has brown hair and brown eyes. His father, Gou was also a fighter who was killed by Sagat.

Wanting to revenge the death of his father, Dan trained to become a fighter at Gouken’s dojo, but he was expelled by his master after he revealed his intention to kill Sagat.

After he left the dojo, Dan continued his training alone, developing a fighting style named Saikyo-ryu. He also continued his search for Sagat.

In Super Street Fighter 4, Dan is upset because nobody told him about the World Warrior Tournament, even if Blanka tried to contact him.

His arrogance is observed during the dialogue he has with Blanka, when he asks if the crowds were disappointed because he didn’t show up. In fact, nobody was able to reach Dan since his phone was disconnected, because he didn’t pay his bills.

Later, Dan encounters Sakura who asks him about Ryu, without knowing that Dan lied when he told her that Ryu was his apprentice.

Eventually, Dan enters the World Warrior Tournament, and before the explosion that takes place inside S.I.N.’s base he is saved by Ryu and Sakura. At the end of the game, Dan creates a commercial for his Saikyo-ryu dojo, encouraging everyone to train with him.

Unfortunately, he forgets to mention the address of his dojo and to pay his phone bill.

NOTE: All moves were extracted from the game, while playing in the single player mode.
