SoulCalibur V Characters Guide: Heishiro Mitsurugi

Heishiro Mitsurugi appears in various titles of the Soul series of video games, such as Soul Edge, SoulCalibur, SoulCalibur II, SoulCalibur III, SoulCalibur IV as well as SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny.

Officially announced as a playable character in SoulCalibur 5, Heishiro comes from a family of farmers and he was born in Japan.

History

Seeing that his country was in war, he decides to become a samurai and at the age of fourteen, Heishiro Mitsurugi left his village to train with the Murakami clan. After fighting in the war for several years, he became a commanding officer in the Japanese Army.

Mitsurugi eventually left the Murakami clan and started to accept mercenary assignments.

When the rifle was introduced as a revolutionary weapon for the war, he learned that the only way to compete against it is to wield the legendary Soul Edge.

Without a clue regarding the exact location of the Soul Edge, Heishiro tried twice to defeat a man wielding a rifle. In his first attempt, he was left with a gunshot scar and shame, but in the second one, against Teppou Hei, he came out victorious.

During his quest, Mitsurugi found out that Nightmare was in Europe and left Japan to find him.

In SoulCalibur IV, Mitsurugi fought against many powerful warriors and assassins, yet his greed for power wasn’t satisfied.

When he was about to give up the search, the peace from the sword given to Mitsurugi in the past, flew away heading west. Heishiro followed the fragment hoping to find both Nightmare and the cursed sword known as Soul Edge.

He fought Algol, but before they could establish who held more power, Algol disappeared and Mitsurugi went back to Japan and stared a quiet life as a farmer.

In SoulCalibur V, the samurai (after hearing a story about a mighty sword known as Soul Calibur from a group of soldiers from abroad) sells all his goods to pay the transport that will take him to where it all begun.

Stronger than ever, Heishiro Mitsurugi wants to finish the duel started almost two decades ago.

Weapons and Moves (Attacks)
