SoulCalibur V Characters Guide: Algol

Algol is a fictional character in the Soul series of video games and he was seen as the main antagonist in SoulCalibur IV.

He returned in SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny, where, along with Nightmare and Siegfried, appears as the final boss.

Confirmed as a playable character in SoulCalibur 5, players who want to control Algol must unlock him in the Legendary Souls mode.

Weapons and Moves (Attacks)

Algol once wielded both Soul Edge, and the holy sword known as Soul Calibur.

In SoulCalibur V , Algol doesn’t use any weapons and his fighting style is called the Command of the Murky Flow of Chaos.

Algol or The Hero King is probably the strongest of all  fighters, since he was able wield Soul Edge without being controlled by its Evil Seed. Algol’s main objective was to keep the peace.

Envious on his father’s power, Arcturus (Algol’s son), took the Evil Sword and was possessed by it.

Algol fought his own son, defeated him, and reclaimed the blade .

After this event, Algol became an angry and an unforgiving man towards those related to the demonic Soul Edge.

Algol managed to create a new sword called Soul Calibur, using some purified remains from the battle against his son and his special powers. Although Algol sacrificed himself for this, his soul remained within Soul Calibur for a long time.

In SoulCalibur IV, after the battle between Siegfried and Nightmare, and the clash of the swords; Algol’s soul was able to absorb some energy, and with it, restore his body. He also built the Tower of Remembrance.

Knowing that this reality wouldn’t last long  without the swords, Algol reinforced his tower with new weapons, using the memories he had from  Soul Edge and Soul Calibur.

Now, he awaits for new warriors to come to his tower, hoping that the one who wields both swords, will eventually appear.
