Saints Row: The Third features three different models of SMGs (Sub-Machine Guns).
The following game guide reveals these models and the upgrades that can be purchased to increase their damage.
Unlike a rifle, a SMG is a light weapon with increased rate of fire, low recoil and medium damage.
In Saints Row: The Third, players can purchase multiple upgrades if they wish to increase the size of a SMG magazine, its damage, or to decrease the reloading time.
Another special upgrade related to this category of weapons, lets the player to equip his character with two SMGs, which means that the damage inflicted doubles.

Description: Incendiary bullets turn up the heat. Laser sight improves hip-firing accuracy.

Description: Higher grade SMG that fires bullets in extremely rapid succession.

Description: Increase the size of your clips.
Level 3

Description: Armor-piercing bullets do more damage pass through armor.
