Let Thompkins Know! is probably the shortest Risen 2 Tacarigua quest, and can be completed immediately after we finish Grog for the Guards.
To activate Let Thompkins Know!; however, it is important to agree to help Gilles, as he is the quest-giver.
If we decide to refuse, Gilles will do the job, and Let Thompkins Know!, becomes unavailable.

Walkthrough
Practically, all we have to do to complete this quest in Risen 2, is to find Thompkins.
While standing in front of the hut where we have found Gilles (on the cotton plantation), we turn right and we should see a guard, on the path that leads to the jungle.
This specific character is Thompkins, and he is waiting for us.
As we approach Thompkins, we can talk to him about warthogs, or we can tell him about the rum.
If we talk about warthogs, we can activate the quest called A Fat Roast; while if mention the grog, we will complete the current quest, and we will activate a new one, called Meat for the Cook.
Note: First we should hunt the warthog, then we can tell Thompkins that Gilles has rum, and the quest named Let Thompkins Know! will end.
