Red Faction Armageddon Game Guide: Weapons List

Released on June 7, 2011, in North America, Red Faction: Armageddon is a third-person shooter, developed by Volition Inc. for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

It is the fourth title in the Red Faction series of video games and one of the most expected titles of 2011.

Red Faction: Armageddon continues the story presented in Red Faction: Guerrilla, but the main character is Darius Mason, the grandson of Alec Mason.

Unlike his grandfather, Darius is a mercenary and he runs a small business, in Bastion, one of the underground cities established by colonists after the Terraformer was destroyed.

During one of his missions, Darius is tricked by Hale and he opens an ancient shaft, releasing a new race of aliens which destroys his home city.

Using a wide range of weapons Darius starts a personal war against these underground enemies, being helped by the Red Faction.

There are various weapons available in Red Faction: Armageddon and each of them, has different stats and attributes.

In the Campaign Mode, players will find these weapons, lying on the ground, and after a weapon is unlocked, it is automatically added to the Weapon Locker.

During the game, if the player wants to change a weapon, he has to find a Weapon Locker.

Only four weapons can be equipped by Darius in Red Faction: Armageddon, but players can modify their stats (rate of fire, recoil, etc…) by purchasing specific upgrades.

Melee Weapons

Maul – A powered sledgehammer that can pulverize concrete, steel and more with a single swing.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents and buildings.

Pistols -– Dual wielded bullet pistols. Highly accurate.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents.

Banshees Pistols –- High damage, slow fire dual-wielded pistols. A favorite of smugglers and salvagers alike.

Effective against: Light Vehicles and armored opponents.

Marauder weapon.

Rifles and Shotguns

Assault Rifle -– Triple barrel, fully automatic rifle. Standard issue for all Red Faction soldiers.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents and pods.

Equipped with a triple barrel.

Standard-issue rifle.

Shotgun –- A standard pump-action shotgun. Deadly at close range.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents.

Pump-action close range weapon.

Nano Rifle – Marauder developed rifle that fires a burst of nanites. Capable of disintegrating most materials.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents, vehicles and buildings.

Rail Driver – Powerful rifle equipped with state-of-the-art biometric scope to identify hostile forces.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents.

Uses Uranium slugs.

Equipped with an X-Ray Scope.

Heavy Weapons

Plasma Cannon -– Fires a bolt of plasma that penetrates objects with destructive force.

Effective against: Armored opponents and buildings.

Charge Launcher -– Fires a remote charge that can stick to any material. Charges must be detonate manually.

Effective against: Armored opponents and buildings.

Long Range weapon.

Plasma Beam – Unleash a focused beam of plasma capable of burning through most materials.

Effective against: Armored opponents and buildings.

Rocket Launcher – Fires a high-velocity explosive. Useful for heavily armored targets.

Effective against: Armored opponents, vehicles and buildings.

Ultor weapon.

Pulse Grenade Launcher – Timed explosive that destroys organic material while minimizing damage to structures.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents.

Marauder weapon.

Semi-automatic long-range weapon.

Singularity Cannon – Fires a blackhole that engulfs anything within its radius before detonating.

Effective against: Unarmored opponents and buildings.

Special Weapons

Magnet Gun –- It is a two stage salvaging device that, in skilled hands, can be a formidable weapon.

First Shot: Anchor

Second Shot: Attractor.

Effective against buildings.

Demolition weapon.

Mr. Toots – From a land of magic and wonder. This weapon is unlocked by completing the Campaign Mode of Red Faction: Armageddon.
