To unlock additional Prototype 2 mutations for Heller, players can finish a series of 12 side-missions, known as Blacknet missions, or //Blacknet missions.
Each Prototype 2 Blacknet mission must be unlocked by progressing through the games main story, which means that they become available when players reach specific points in the game.
In combination with the collectibles that unlock new mutations, as well as the upgrades received for leveling up, the Prototype 2 //Blacknet missions play a very important role in the game.
Each Prototype 2 zone includes four different //Blacknet missions that should be completed to fully upgrade Heller.
It is important to know that a Prototype 2 side-mission may include two or more phases that can be unlocked by hunting specific characters in NYZ, and consume them.
After a character is consumed during a side-mission, the player must find a specific terminal to update the missions objectives. These objectives vary from one Blacknet mission to another. For example, during one mission, the player is asked to collect a number of important Intel crates, before the time runs out. In this case, knowing how to glide its vital.
Knowing how to hunt in Prototype 2 is also important because it is the only method to find the targets Heller must consume. This action requires attention; however, some characters spawn in specific locations.
Some Blacknet side-missions are focused on stealth, while others on combat. Usually, during most Blacknet side-missions, important bonuses can be earned, by performing various tasks, such as destroying a fixed number of tanks using Hellers Pack Leader ability, or one of his special weapons.
When players receive a bonus, Hellers amount of experience points increases, allowing him to level up faster.
The first mission is Prototype 2 Operation: Orion’s Belt.
