Smoke is a fictional Mortal Kombat character and a former member of the Lin Kuei Clan.
Originating from Prague, Czech Republic, Smoke’s real name is Tomas Vrbada.
In the Mortal Kombat video game series, Smoke made his debut as a playing character in Mortal Kombat 3, but he also appears, as an unplayable character, in Mortal Kombat 2.
Smoke’s storyline begins in the third episode of the franchise, when he was an active member of the Lin Kuei clan of assassins, and Sub-Zero’s best friend.
The Lin Kuei sent both of them to Outworld, to assassinate Shang Tsung, but they failed to accomplish their mission.
When Smoke and Sub-Zero returned from the Outworld, they discovered that the Lin Kuei started the process of transforming all their assassins into cyborgs.
Cyrax and Sektor were already cyborgs, but Smoke and Sub-Zero managed to escape.
Eventually, Smoke is captured by the Lin Kuei and converted into a cyborg assassin also known as LK-7T2. Later he is sent by the Lin Kuei to hunt and kill his best friend, Sub-Zero.
In Mortal Kombat 2011, Smoke returns as a playable character, but in the human form, and still as a member of Lin Kuei. He appears in several cut-scenes near Sub-Zero, who tries to find Scorpion.
