In Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, The Right Stuff is an accessible side-quest available while visiting the third area, known as the Wildlands.
Even if The Right Stuff is a short quest, with a small payout, it is connected to other side-quests, including The Hunter’s Challenge and Saving An Angel.
The Right Stuff can be activated and also completed after Lightning saves the Chocobo and brings the bird back to Canopus Farms. At this point if you travel west, towards the Jagd Woods, you will reach a pass known as Shady Path.
Before entering Shady Path, you should see a man riding a Chocobo. It is Hunter Hopeful and your client for The Right Stuff side-quest, explained below.
Quest Details
Description: “At the entrance to the Jagd Woods, Lightning is waylaid by a young hunter hopeful. He offers a deal – if she can defeat certain monsters he will give her Chocobo feed. Lightning simply has to hunt down some Miniflan, collect six samples of vibrant ooze and deliver them to the hunter.”

Quest Walkthrough
From the beginning, you should know that finishing The Right Stuff is very important if you want to get the Soldier of Peace garb, because The Right Stuff is the side-quest required to unlock The Hunter’s Challenge.
Second, as a reward for finishing The Right Stuff, you will also get Mystical Meal, an item that can be used to feed Lightning’s Chocobo, when playing Main-Quest 3-2: Healing An Angel.
Alternatively, you can also give your Chocobo the Mystical Meal in order to help him gain his strength back and remove the bandages on the bird’s wings (Chocobo Cheer side-quest).
After you talk to Hunter Hopeful, all you have to do is to find 6 Miniflans and kill them to loot 6 units of Vibrant Ooze.
The Miniflans spawn in the area known as Grasslands, usually during the day. They are blue and they are similar to the Flanitors in Yusnaan, but they are smaller.
When fighting a Miniflan, focus on casting fire spells, and avoid physical attacks.
After collecting 6 Vibrant Ooze, return to the Shady Pass and talk to Hunter Hopeful.
