General Zod is the fourth DLC character featured in Injustice: Gods Among Us, the video game developed by NetherRealm Studios for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and iOS based devices.
Released on July 2, 2013, Zod is a supervillain who appeared for the first time as a DC Comics character in Adventure Comics #283 (April 1961), being created by Robert Bernstein and George Papp.
Born on Supermans home planet, Krypton, General Zod is also known as Dru-Zod. He was a friend of Superman’s father, Jor-El, and the supreme commander of the military forces on Krypton. When the former general tried to seize control on Krypton, he was accused for high treason by the Council of Krypton, and sent to the Phantom Zone; thus surviving the destruction of his home planet.
Exiled, Dru-Zod managed to escape several times, and fought Superman, but eventually he was sent back to the Zone.
After the destruction of Krypton, Zod focused his attention on Earth, and he continued to follow Superman, trying to transform Earth in a new planet for the remaining Kryptonians.
As an Injustice: Gods Among Us DLC character, Zod cant be accessed in story mode; and he doesnt feature an alternative costume. General Zod is voiced by Nolan North and he was leaked alongside Lobo, Batgirl, and Scorpion.
General Zod was also available at E3 2013 and the first trailer featuring the character, became available on June 21, 2013. Zods alternative ending shows the general defeating his nemesis, Superman, and claiming the High Councilorship.
Without Kal-El to stop him, Zod can finally accomplish his plan, turning Earth into a New Krypton.
