Bartholomew Henry Barry Allen, also known as The Flash or The Fastest Man Alive, becomes the main character in Injustice: Gods Among Us during Chapter 10, following Lex Luthor’s Chapter.
Created by Robert Kanigher, John Broome and Carmine Infantino, The Flash debuted as a fictional character in October 1956, in Showcase #4.
In Injustice: Gods Among Us, the alternate version of The Flash is a member of Superman’s Regime, but as most playable characters he also plays a double role, the other version working close to Superman and Cyborg to pull out their friends from the parallel universe controlled by The Man of Steel.
Flash’s chapter in the video game begins after Superman kills the insurgent Lex Luthor, with a cutscene showing Sinestro, Raven, Cyborg, Hawkgirl, Wonder Woman and Black Adam inside Superman’s One World HQ, trying to find a way to stop the insurgents.
Disappointed that the world doesnt appreciate the rules he set, Superman decides to set an example by destroying both Metropolis and Gotham, to demonstrate how chaos works.
The meeting is interrupted by Shazam, Yellow Lantern and The Flash, the first starting to question Supermans intentions.
When Shazam tries to stop Superman, he is reduced to silence and then killed by The Man of Steel. The Flash tries to stop Shazam, but knowing how Superman will react, Green Lantern stops his best friend.
After Shazams demise, Superman continues to plan his next moves, and sends the alternate version of Green Lantern and Flash, to prepare Doomsday.
Solomon Grundy also appears to carry out Shazam’s body, while Flash tells Yellow Lantern that Shazam was right, and that he doesnt intend to continue to execute Supermans orders. Eventually, The Flash decides to leave the Regime but Hal explains that they cant leave.
When Flash tries to exit the room, Yellow Lantern stops him, and the two friends fight each other. Even if he regrets he fought his friend, Flash seems decided to continue with his plans, until Grundy appears and notice that Yellow Lantern was defeated.
The next fight Flash has to win is against Solomon Grundy. After his victory, Flash uses his power to reach Gotham and warn the Insurgents about Supermans plan to release Doomsday. During his race he sees a yellow beam of light generated by Sinestro who encourages his troops; therefore, Flash takes a detour.
When Sinestro tries to execute the soldiers who didnt obey his orders, Flash interferes and stops him. For Sinestro, Barrys desertion is more than a reason to fight him.
The final fight in Chapter 10 is between Flash and Green Arrow. When Barry finally arrives at the Insurgency HQ, Green Arrow shoots and explosive arrow at him, knowing that Flash is a member of the Regime.
Being Green Arrow’s friend, Flash tries to explain that he came to warn the Insurgents about Superman’s plans but The Emerald Archer refuses to listen to what he has to say, until he is defeated. Flashs chapter ends after he convinces Green Arrow that he switched sides.
The Flash is by far the fastest character in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Even if his attacks are not as powerful as those inflicted by other characters, Flash is a powerful opponent recommended to advanced players, because his moves must be chained quickly to increase their damage.
Costumes and Skins
Flash can wear six costumes in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
The default costume, unlocked when the video game begins, the Regime Costume which can be unlocked in the Archives, and the Elseworlds Finest Costume that can be unlocked by completing all S.T.A.R Lab missions and by earning three stars at the same time.
Additionally players can unlock a skin for Flash by completing a Speed Run Battle Mode tournament. The skin is available in the iOs version of the video game; therefore, players must connect their accounts.
Other costumes available for Flash are the Blackest Night Flash Costume, which can be unlocked by purchasing the Blackest Night DLC Costume Pack 1, and the Earth 2 Costume introduced by the Earth 2 Costume Pack DLC.
