In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Black Adam is a playable character that can’t be accessed in Story Mode, but it is available in other game modes. Black Adam is a Power User and one of Superman’s One Earth Regime members.
Created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck, Black Adam debuted in The Marvel Family # 1, back in 1954, as a villain; however, starting 1973, he became a supervillain, and he was redefined later by Jerry Ordway, Geoff Johns, and David S. Goyer.
Unlike his biggest rival Billy Baston, Black Adam originates from Kahndaq and he is a corrupted Egyptian prince also known as Teth-Adam.
Just like Billy Baston, he was also chosen by the powerful wizard Shazam to be his successor, but Teth-Adams soul wasnt as pure as the wizard believed.
Both Billy Baston and Teth-Adam learned how to transform when they say the magic word SHAZAM!, but the main difference is that Billy Baston turns into Shazam, being helped by six ancient Greek Gods and heroes; while Teth-Adam turns into Black Adam, with the help he receives from six ancient Egyptian Gods.
When the magic word is pronounced, Black Adam gains unlimited stamina from Shu, supernatural speed from Heru, increased strength from Amon, more wisdom from Zehuti, the power of Aton, and the courage of Mehen.
A trusted ally of Superman, Black Adam can be seen in multiple cutscenes featured in Injustice: Gods Among Us, the video game.
He embraces Superman’s vision on the One World Regime since it is similar to the one he uses to rule in Kahndaq. In the video game, Black Adam appears for the first time fighting the superheroes in the introductory cutscene.
Helped by Hawkgirl, Shazam manages to surprise Black Adam who loses his powers and turns into Teth-Adam, falling from the sky under Doomsday’s weight.
Using one of his arrows, Green Arrow saves Black Adam’s life, and even defeats him in the parallel universe, inside Batman’s cave. Other Insurgency members that encounter Black Adam are Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, and Green Lantern.
In Story Mode he is also one of Superman’s opponents, in a fight that starts after a short mini-game. When he is asked by the positive version of Superman to give up, the duplicate Black Adam refuses, thus becoming Superman’s rival.
