Grand Theft Auto 5

Grand Theft Auto V Official Soundtrack

GTA V OST (Original Soundtrack) includes a number of 50 songs played in the game, and the complete list was leaked several days before the official release of the title.

The Grand Theft Auto V OST should not be confused with the list of songs aired by the local radio stations, a list which was revealed months before the Original Soundtrack.

GTA 5 OST contains only 50 tracks, and even if they are aired by the radio stations, the definition of an original soundtrack in the video game industry refers to

“…soundtracks often released after a game’s release, usually consisting of the background music from the game’s levels, menus, title screens, promo material (such as entire songs that only segments of which were used in the game), cut-screens and occasionally sound-effects used in the game.”

While the Grand Theft Auto 5 Original Soundtrack, also known as Official Soundtrack, doesn’t include any sound-effects, fans of the franchise can listen to 50 tracks that are also featured in the videogame.

The tracks in Grand Theft Auto 5 OST have been selected to represent different music genres; therefore, players have at their disposal a small library containing the best tracks from their favorite video game.

Artists such as Kelly Rowland, Elton John, Warren G or Bob Marley have been selected and included in the Grand Theft Auto V Original Soundtrack, along with a number of award-winning bands: Queen, Pet Shop Boys, etc…

Probably the most anticipated video game of 2013, Grand Theft Auto V, abbreviated GTA V, is an open-world action video game developed by RockStar North and published by RockStar Games.

The video game was set to release worldwide on September 17, 2013, being distributed by Take-Two Interactive for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

According to Marty McLaughlin of The Scotsman, the budget spent for development and marketing exceeds US$265 million, thus making GTA 5 the most expensive video game that was ever created.
