The magazine of a Boltok Pistol can carry up to 6 large caliber rounds. It is a semi-automatic weapon, but it has high recoil.
Boomshot Grenade Launcher
The Boomshot Grenade Launcher is a weapon which also appears in Gears of War 2, being favored by the Locust Boomers.
It is a single-shot grenade launcher, equipped with a magazine that can carry one grenade, but the maximum number of grenades you can hold is 12. This large weapon, fires cluster grenades. It has a slow fire rate and medium accuracy, but with a direct hit it instantly kills most targets.
This weapon should not be used in close range fights, because you will also take damage during the explosion; thats why most players use it in ambushes.
The Butcher Cleaver is a special Gears of War 3 melee weapon, which appears in the Horde Mode 2.0. The cleaver is dropped by Butchers and unlike other weapons; you can use it only for a limited time, before it breaks.
The Butcher Cleaver is similar to a machete and it should be used only in close range fights.
The Digger Launcher is one of the new weapons introduced in Gears of War 3. Used by the Savage Locust, this launcher is considered one of the best weapons in the game.
The Digger Launcher fires a small creature called digger, which goes underground and seeks its target, and then it explodes causing massive damage. The best way to avoid the digger is to move around. If someone fires a digger at you, pay close attention to the environmental sounds, because you will hear it coming.
The Gnasher Shotgun is a Gears of War 3 weapon manufactured by the Coalition of Ordered Governments. It is a medium size weapon equipped with a magazine that can carry up to 8 rounds.
The Gnasher Shotgun uses 12 gauge shells; it has a short range and a slow fire rate. Its accuracy and damage depend on the range; therefore it should be used in close range fights, for increased effectiveness. Some Locust Grenadiers and Drones use this weapon as well.
Gorgon Burst Pistol
The Gorgon Burst Pistol is a semiautomatic sidearm, thats why its also known as the Gorgon SMG. The weapon is manufactured by the Locust Horde, and it is a medium double-barreled pistol.
Equipped with a magazine that can hold up to 32 rounds, the Gorgon Burst Pistol has medium accuracy and slow fire rate; but at close range, it can be a devastating weapon, because it fires in bursts of 8 rounds.
Hammerburst 2 Assault Rifle
The Hammerburst is a Gears of War battle rifle which also appears in GoW and GoW 2. In Gears of War 3, it is also known as the Hammerburst II, and has suffered several modifications.
One of the most important changes can be observed while aiming over the shoulder. If you press the right analog stick, the view jumps to a first-person perspective, which allows you to take out an enemy faster than before. This option is a trade for the weapons fire rate which was reduced.
The Hammerburst in GoW 3 is equipped with a 17 rounds magazine, and it has two fire modes. In the automatic mode, the rifle can fire 4 rounds per second, while in the semi-automatic mode; the fire rate depends on your skills.
Hammer of Dawn

Lancer Assault Rifle
The Lancer Assault Rifle is a weapon which debuted in the first Gears of War video game. It can also be accessed in Gears of War 3, along with the Chainsaw Bayonet attachment well known by all Gears of War fans.
The Lancer Assault Rifle has a magazine that can carry up to 60 rounds. It fires 15 rounds per second, and has medium range and accuracy. It is a medium weapon, manufactured by the Coalition of Ordered Governments.
The Incendiary Grenade is also one of the weapons that appear for the first time in Gears of War 3. Its similar to a Bolo Grenade, but its an area of denial throwing weapon; however on direct impact it can kill a target by setting it on fire.
The Ink Grenade is a throwing weapon introduced in Gears of War 2, but it also appears in Gears of War 3. It is similar to the Incendiary Grenade, but it has a different effect on the target.
When the Ink Grenade hits the ground, it releases a gas that obstructs the targets vision. Additionally, after 5 seconds, the gas acts like a poison, and damages all nearby units. A downed target exposed to the gas will die after several seconds.
The Ink Grenades are used especially by the Locust Horde. The range of the ink cloud released by this grenade is 10-yard radius.
The One Shot weapon from Gears of War 3 is a heavy sniper rifle developed by COG. It is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, because you can kill almost any target with a single bullet, however it has a very long reload time and a small magazine.
The One Shot sniper rifle is equipped with a red laser and you have to reload it after every shot.
The Retro Lancer, also known as the Pendulum Wars Lancer, is the predecessor of the Lancer Assault Rifle, and a playable weapon in Gears of War 3. The assault rifle manufactured by the Coalition of Ordered Governments has a medium rate of fire, low to medium accuracy and is equipped with a magazine that can carry up to 30 rounds.
The Retro Lancer should be used in close to medium range fights, for increased effectiveness.
The Sawed-off Double Barreled Shotgun also makes its debut in Gears of War 3. It is a single-fire shotgun manufactured by COG, and it is a very effective weapon in close ranged combats.
If the weapon is used correctly, you can take out up to 4 enemies with a single shell; however it must be reloaded after each shot.
Manufactured by the Locust, the Torque Bow is a playable weapon in Gears of War 3. It is a deadly medium size weapon which uses impulsion-tipped explosive arrows that inflict massive damage.
The Torque Bow has a slow rate of fire, but high accuracy, and after each shot, you must reload it. The maximum amount of arrows you can carry is 12.
The Vulcan Cannon is one of the new weapons introduced in Gears of War 3. Manufactured by COG, the Vulcan Cannon is a fully-automatic two-man gatling gun.
