Final Fantasy XV A Better Noiseblaster Side Quest Walkthrough
If you are looking for a machinery to equip Prompto in Final Fantasy XV, you might consider completing A Better Noiseblaster side-quest, which allows you to unlock the Noiseblaster Plus, by talking to Cid in Hammerhead.
FFXV A Better Noiseblaster side-quest has two requirements, similar to all side-quests you receive from Cid.
First, you need to acquire the Noiseblaster machinery, and then you need to find a Magnetron Cid can use on your weapon to upgrade it.
The Noiseblaster is quite easy to retrieve, while playing the game’s story missions. You should look for it when you enter Fort Vaullerey during the Imperial Infiltration main-quest.
If by any chance, you miss the weapon when you first visit Fort Vaullerey, you can return to this location and retrieve it later.
For this walkthrough; however, we will assume you follow our videos and you acquire it when you play Imperial Infiltration.
As you progress through this quest, eventually, you will have to knock Caligo unconscious. Keep following him until he stops in front of a gate with red laser bars.
Take him out from behind, and Ignis will tell Noctis to regroup with Gladiolus and Prompto. On the left side of the gate with red laser bars, is a small office. Make sure you look inside to see the Noiseblaster on a table.
You should know that in Fort Vaullerey you can also find the Cerberus sniper rifle.
Objective: Find a Magnetron for Cid
After you get the Noiseblaster, show it to Cid and you will be able to start A Better Noiseblaster side-quest, but to finish it, you have to bring Cindy’s grandfather a Magnetron.
This item is usually dropped by MA-Hoplomachus in Formouth Garrison, which is an end-game Imperial base, quite difficult to infiltrate at an early stage.
Since the drop rate is also small (5%), you should look for a Magnetron when you play A King’s Struggle main-quest (Chapter 13).
Make sure that after you find Prompto in Gralea, you search the rooms on the left side of the corridor while moving towards your next objective (“Update the keycard to access the upper levels”).
The Magnetron is on the ground inside a room where you will be ambushed by a Snaga, as you can see in the video below.
Objective: Give the Magnetron to Cid
When you bring the Magnetron to Cid, if he is not working on other upgrades, he will immediately focus on the Noiseblaster, and tell you to return later.
Make sure that you complete at least two side-quests or hunts, then rest; otherwise Cid won’t call you.
