FIFA 2012 is a football simulation videogame developed by EA Sports. The game is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, PlayStation 2, Nintendo 3DS, PSP and iOS. FIFA 2012 was released on September 27, 2011 in US and on September 30, 2011 in Europe.
Primeira Liga has 78 years of history and only 5 teams have managed to win the title. FC Porto, Sporting Club and Benfica Lisbon are the teams that won Primeira Liga 75 times. Their nickname is The Big Three. FC Belenenses and FC Boavista have won the other two titles. Now is called Liga Zon Sagres due to sponsorship rights.
In the first league there are 16 teams contesting the title each season. Each team plays twice with all other clubs, so during a season there will be 30 games for every team.
The last two teams in the league will get relegated to the Liga de Hondra (Second League in Portugal) and the first two teams from second division will get promoted to the First League.
In 1983 there was a reform in the Portuguese football system and from then until 2000 the first league was called National Championship of the First Division. It was and is a round-rubin competition. In 1999 the name was changed to Primeira Liga (Premier League).
In 2002 the name was changed again, to SuperLiga Galp Energia due to sponsorship rights. Bwin, the sporting bet portal arranged a 4-year sponsorship deal with the football federation, naming the league Liga betandwin.com and in 2006 BWINLiga.
Between 200 and 2009 the league was called Liga Sagres, when Sagres beer became the sponsor of the league. In 2010, Zon Multimedia joined Sagres as a sponsor of the competition.
