FIFA Soccer 2012 (also known as FIFA 12) is a football video game and is published every year by EA Sports. FIFA 2012 features a vast selection of soccer leagues.
The following game guide presents the Australian Football League also known as Hyundai A League, as it appears in FIFA 12.
The guide includes all Australian teams and the lineup for each team.
Hyundai A League was founded in 2004 and is run by the FFA (Football Federation Australia). The first match of the league took place on August 26, 2005, in Newcastle. It is known as Hyundai A League because is sponsored by Hyundai Motor Company Australia and Qantas.
Hyundai A League started with just 8 football teams, but now it has 10 teams: Brisbane Roar FC, Central Coast Mariners FC, Sydney FC, Perth Glory FC, Melbourne Heart FC, Newcastle Jets FC, Melbourne Victory FC, Adelaide United FC, Wellington Phoenix FC and Gold Coast United FC.
In 2011, the winner of the league was Brisbane Roar FC and the player of the year was Marcos Flores.
Hyundai A League season 2011-2012 will have a Regular Season and a Final Series. In the Regular Season each team has to play 3 times against all other teams. The season lasts 25 weeks.
After the Regular Season the top 6 teams will enter the Final Series. The winner of the Grand Final wins Hyundai A League. The Final Series will be played as follows:
The first two teams will play the Major Semi Finals in 2 legs and the winner will advance to the Grand Final.
Team 3 will play against team 6 in a knockout semi-final, while team 4 will battle team 5 in a knockout round. The two winners from these matches will play the Minor Semi Final and the winner will advance to the Preliminary Final.
The Preliminary Final will be played between the looser from the Major Semi Final and the winner from the Minor Semi Final. The winner will advance to the Grand Final.
In order to attract big crowds at games, the clubs are allowed to hire one big profile player (International Marquee), one Australian Marquee player and one Junior Marquee player. Their salary will be paid outside the salary cap limit.
