In Dragon’s Dogma, Witch’s Brew is one of the first side-quests that can be completed in Gran Soren, or the Capital.
To start the side-quest, after we enter Gran Soren, we check the notice board in Human Quarter, where multiple tasks are displayed.
One of them is Witch’s Brew, a side-quest that can be finished quickly for 6000 XP points.
Objective
“Give Selene a Gransys Herb to acquire a draught of Herb Ale.”

“In my grandfathers day, there was a potionmaker in the woods a witch, to put it plain. Bring her herbs, and shes make an ale like no other.
Talk is, a descendent of hers is still there, deep in the wood. Id dearly love another taste of that ale.”
Walkthrough
We start Witch’s Brew in the morning, and our first goal is to find a Gransys Herb (assuming that we dont have one, in our inventory).
As we exit Grans Soren through the southern gate, to the left we notice a plain and several buffaloes.
Since we play this quest during the day, if we search the plain we can spot several purple flowers, also known as Gransys Herbs, scattered all over the place. We pick up one of these herbs, and we travel south to Witchwood.
Note: Since we completed the side-quest called Lost and Found, we already know where Selene is located, since we found her earlier in the game.
We make sure that on our way to Witchwood we visit the Encampment again, because more side-quests can be activated by checking the notice board there. We will also have to visit Cassardis again, and Pablos Inn, to activate several side-jobs.
When we visit Cassardis, we will hear a voice inside the well, asking for help. It is Rorric who asks us to clear the saurian nests (Deeper Trouble side quest).
After we activate these quests, we can continue our journey to Witchwood where Selene is waiting for us.
We follow the same path, used to find Adaros daughter (Lost and Found side-quest).
When we find her, we give her the herb and in exchange we receive the draught of Herb Ale.
