A Dark Chorus is a side-quest featured in Dragon’s Dogma, and just like Quell The Hobs, it can be accessed by visiting Pablos Inn in Cassardis, after we complete the story quest called Off With Its Head.
A Dark Chorus is in fact a job posted on the notice board in Pablos Inn, and can be completed immediately for 500 XP Points.
Additionally, as a reward for this side-quest, our hero will receive a Golden Stiletto.
Objective
Defeat 10 Harpies
Region: Mountain Waycastle Vicinity
Request
“As beasts of the air, harpies are a threat most troublesome. Whats more, their speed makes a mockery of ballistas, especially in tight quarters. You, then, must be swifter still. Strike them down, with bowfire and magick.”
Walkthrough
A Dark Chorus can be completed immediately, if we wish to level up faster, or, we can opt to postpone it, and finish it while playing other quests, because the harpies are similar to goblins and wolves; meaning that we will encounter them especially when we travel from Gran Soren to the Encampment.
If we desire to finish A Dark Chorus as soon as we activate it, we must travel to the Encampment and then we have to exit the bulwark through the eastern gate. From our current position we will travel north towards Gran Soren.
Eventually, we will reach the Mountain Waycastle and if we continue to follow the northern path we will enter a mountain pass. The area is filled with harpies, and to finish the quest we must kill ten of them.
The creatures fly around very fast, so to kill them we must make sure they land. For a ranged hero, it is an easy job, but for a fighter it can be a tricky one.
At this point we have two options. We can jump and attack when a harpy is nearby; or we can wait for one of our ranged pawns to hit a harpy. In both cases, if a harpy is downed, it becomes an easy target, which can be killed with several sword blows.
After we take out ten harpies, the quest named A Dark Chorus ends.
