The regime used the oil to create powerful weapons, thus the corruption appeared between the members of the new government. Furthermore, the city of Dunwall fights against a plague which separates the rich citizens from the poor. Those infected are known as weepers and most of them are killed on sight.
The plague on the other hand, serves as an excuse for the regime to separate the citizens in districts, and purge the unprivileged civilians with the help of heavily armored officers known as the Tallboys.
While Dunwall falls in ruin day by day, one hero arises. His name is Corvo Attano, and he is the bodyguard of Empress Jessamine Kaldwin.
During her assassination, Corvo is framed and accused for the crime; therefore, he becomes an infamous criminal. Contacted by those who oppose the regime, and known as the Loyalists, the skilled assassin accepts to fight Jessamines killers and take out all members of the government, one by one.
His final goal is to re-establish the order in Dunwall by finding Princess Emily Kaldwin and by crowning her as Empress. After its official release, Dishonored was very well received by critics and reviewers.
Winner of multiple awards, Dishonored obtained 9.2 points out of 10 on IGN, and five stars out of five from The Escapist and The Telegraph.
