Sokolov wasn’t held at the institute, and you found out that he was taken at the mansion of Kirin Jindosh, a brilliant inventor who developed the Clockwork Soldier for the Duke of Serkonos.
Your task is to rescue your old ally and eliminate Jindosh in the process, before he builds an army of Clockwork Soldiers.
The first part of the mission takes place on the streets of Aventa District. The area is divided in two parts, Lower Aventa and Upper Aventa, and you can travel between them using the carriage from the station. Each part features its own collectibles.
The second half of the mission unfolds exclusively inside Jindosh’s mansion, which has moving parts and rooms that can be reconfigured, effectively turning the mansion into a giant maze.
This means a lot of collectibles are easy to miss. However, our Dishonored 2 collectibles guide tries to explain the best path to each of them using a series of text clues and screenshots. If you need additional help consult the YouTube video at the end of the page.
Mission 4 – The Clockwork Mansion Collectibles Locations
When you begin the mission, you have to climb a set of stairs to reach the Lower Aventa District. Open the gate and Blink/Far Reach on top of the security booth.
Make a 180 turn and use your powers to reach a small balcony above the stairs you just used. Open the door to find the first Painting in Dishonored 2 Mission 4 on the wall to your left side.
While facing the Painting in the office mentioned above, turn around and head to the china cabinet in the opposite side of the room. Break it to find a Bonecharm collectible.
Outsider Shrine #1, Rune #1, #2
Go back to streel level. While facing the carriage station, head left where some civilians are in front of a building that has a large banner which says “Keep Out”. Teleport on a nearby lamp post and then through the open window above the banner.
In the main room is an Outsider Shrine which holds two Runes. Alternatively, you can use the front entrance, but the building is infested with Bloodflies.
Face the station once more and head in the alleyway to your left, between the station and the building with the Outsider Shrine. At the corner of the alleyway, use your abilities to reach a low roof near some pipes.
Then use them again to land on the only balcony that’s on this side of the building. The Dishonored 2 Painting is on the left wall as you enter the apartment, next to the balcony.
Now turn right/around and go to the blue room with butterfly displays and stuffed animals. Break the display case on the table to find a Black Bonecharm.
Follow the same alleyway, this time all the way to the back of the station, where you can find a pawn shop. Nearby is a damaged piece of furniture that holds a Rune. Be aware of the gang that tries to ambush you.
Go through the archway across the carriage station to find a yard. A basement entrance from this yards leads to the black market shop. Talk to the vendor to initiate a cutscene.
For the moment, she can’t sell you anything, because she expects a visit from some criminals. Hide in the shop until they leave and then buy the Rune collectible.
Assuming you bought a Rewire Tool from the black market, rewire the security panel of the carriage station so you can safely pass through the Wall of Light. If you also bought the Ticket Booth Key, use it to open the booth ahead and grab the Blueprint from the nearby desk.
Exit the booth and climb the stairs to the second floor. There are a few small cages next to a bench. On top of the cages is another Dishonored 2 Mission 4 Bonecharm.
The second part of the mission takes place in the Upper Aventa District. When you exit the tram carriage, head inside the guard offices to your right-hand side.
Go to the first room on the second floor (the “Records” room) and grab the Bonecharm that is sitting on the main desk.
From the previous collectible, go upstairs to the third floor and into the classroom at the end of the hallway. The Dishonored 2 Blueprint can be found on the desk in the middle.
Don’t forget to get the gate code and the key from the enemy that is sleeping nearby, they will come in handy later.
Between the two buildings adjacent with the guard offices there is a side alley that leads behind the Wall of Light. Use the key that you picked up earlier to unlock the gate and then Blink/Far Reach to the first balcony on your left side (the one with the closed door).
The Rune collectable is inside a desk, in a room at the far end of the apartment. Depending on your chaos level, the building might be overrun by Bloodflies.
From the same side path, Blink/Far Reach through the open window above the awning of the seized building. The apartment is infested, so destroy the nests before picking up the Corrupted Bonecharm from the stool.
Another Painting collectible is on the wall opposite to the previous Bonecharm.
The next collectibles can be found while exploring The Clockwork Mansion. Pull the configuration lever in the main lobby and then use the staircase on the left.
Across the hall and to the left-hand side is a corridor with a Wall of Light. Interact with the nearby lever and then quickly slip under the floor to find the whale oil canister.
Remove it to deactivate the security device, then head through the door at the end of the corridor to find a bathroom. Pull the lever while standing next to the bathtub to reveal the second configuration of the room, and with it, a Painting.
Pull the lever again, but this time don’t stand on the rotating platform. After the room rearranges itself step on the platform and pull the new lever.
Around the cameras in Jindosh’s bedroom is a small room. Step inside and press the red button. The Black Bonecharm will reveal itself on a shelf.
Press the red button again to restore the room to its previous state. In the current configuration, head to the floor below by using the balcony of the left-hand side room.
Right in front of you there are two people talking in a waiting room. Pull the lever that’s outside and then check the desk inside the new room to find a Dishonored 2 Mission 4 Blueprint.
Leave the previous room and go to the left corridor that leads to the elevator. Open one of the windows on the left-hand side to find a restricted area, and drop through the grate to access a recess spot with a dead body swarming with Bloodflies. Check the body for a Bonecharm.
Pick up the previous Bonecharm, then turn around and drop through the skylight, inside the waiting room (assuming you haven’t changed the configuration).
Alternatively, you can go back to the previous area and call the waiting room. This time use the lever that’s inside and ride it down to the Assessment Chamber level.
Head across the walkway where an enemy patrols to a back room with a generator and a Wall of Light. The Bonecharm is inside a small drawer behind the generator.
The next Painting is inside Sokolov’s cell, at the bottom of the Assessment Chamber, which is like a moving maze. From the previous collectible, head to the far end of the glass floor and use the metallic stairs.
Pull the lever to open the chamber and step on the golden square. Go forward and right, then step on the square. Now go around the corner and break the wooden boards to reveal another square. Step on it to open Sokolov’s cell.
Inside Jindosh’s laboratory you find a machinery that has many different modules (the strange circular room). Use a console to bring up the Anatomy module and grab the Rune from the desk.
Blink/Far Reach to the top tier of the laboratory and check inside Jindosh’s desk to find a Dishonored 2 Blueprint (check the front of the desk, not the back).
Behind the desk there is a Painting hung on the wall, which is also the last collectible in The Clockwork Mansion.
