Chapter 17 in Dead Space 3 the video game, called A Strange City, begins when Isaac reaches the Alien Ruins at the end of Chapter 16, and it includes many collectibles for those who wish to build better weapons and uncover more secrets of the videogame.
In Chapter 17, Isaac must retrieve the Codex and then race towards the control center of the Machine that keeps the Moon of Tau Volantis inactive.

Mission Description
Alien Ruins Reaching Danik is becoming more difficult, as he and his crew descend deep into the depths of Tau Volantis. Isaac must catch up to him and retrieve the Codex, before Danik can shut down the Machine that is keeping the Necromorph moon in hibernation.

Artifact #1 (Alien Artifact 05)
When the chapter begins, you have to look for the first Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact near the bench, between a frozen specimen and an ice sample.
Log #1 (Text Log)
You enter the first room (after the area with the bench) and you look on your right side to see the first Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Log thats at the bottom of the blackboard.
Circuit #1 (+2 Reload +1 Damage)
After the cutscene with the Machine, you walk down the path until you cannot go further. At this point you have to acquire a special trigger to set off some charges.
Next to the box where you can get the explosive is the first Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Circuit.
However, it is placed in an inaccessible area, so you have to use Kinesis.
Artifact #2 (Unitologist Artifact 06)
Before setting up the second set of charges using the trigger, you look near the scaffolding and the supply boxes for the second Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact.
Log #2 (Audio Log)
Next, you fall down inside a room filled with smaller Markers.
You cross the room and then the Locator tells you to turn right. Instead, you go left (you will see a door) and on the table that is there is the second Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Log which is triggered automatically (when you hack the control box).
When you are here, you will also unlock the Artifact Storage Optional Mission, and is recommended to complete it right now (following the guide below) and then return to this point for the remaining items.
Circuit #2 (+2 Reload +1 Rate of Fire)
After you activate an anti-gravity generator in the area with the glowing Marker you need to look up on the ceiling to spot the second Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Circuit (exactly when you are attacked by the Necromorph with tentacles, just before you enter the next room).
Circuit #3 (+2 Reload +1 Clip)
As soon as you exit zero gravity, you find a disc-shaped area on the floor that amplifies the strength of your Kinesis module.
If you look at the top of the wooden scaffolding thats nearby, you can see the third Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Circuit.
Weapon Part #1 (Compact Standard Frame)
After you clear the path using super-charged Kinesis, you can find the Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Weapon Part on a crate just ahead the generator (across the bench).
Log #3 (Audio Log)
Next, you use the cargo lift, and you walk straight until you reach the disc-shaped area.
The third Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Log activates as you stand on top of the disc.
Artifact #3 (Alien Artifact 06)
After you use the conduit you just activated, you have to open another door that requires alien hieroglyphs.
As you enter through the door, you walk on the left side, hugging the walk, and after you cant go any further (it only takes a few steps) you look behind the rock thats next to you for the third Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact.
Circuit #4 (+2 Reload +2 Damage)
You pick up the Artifact collectable mentioned above, and then you head in the center of the room, pass the disc-shaped area, to find the fourth Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Circuit on a rock thats just below the statue.

Artifact Storage Log #1 (Audio Log)
As soon as you exit the elevator that leads you inside the Artifact Storage, you go downstairs and you look to your right, near the frozen specimen, to see the first Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Log.
Artifact Storage Log #2 (Text Log)
If you turn around from your previous position you can see the second Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Log, a text log, at the top of the stairs.
Artifact Storage Log #3 (Text Log)
When you enter the cylindrical area with zero gravity, you need to go down, near the big crates (after the first monster, where the green lights are).
Exactly at the top of the third bridge you can find the third Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Log floating.
Artifact Storage Weapon Part #1 (Stasis Coating)
Next, you kill the second yellow monster in zero gravity, and then you land on the fourth bridge.
On one of the bridges sides is a dark place/alcove and if you pay attention you can spot the first Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Weapon Part in that space.
You can grab it using Kinesis or you can fly near it since youre in a zero G environment.
Artifact Storage Circuit #1 (+2 Reload +2 Clip)
After that, you exit the zero gravity environment, and then you head inside the second room with zero G. As soon as you enter, you look left to see another alcove in the wall.
You fly there to find a circuit box, and inside, the first Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Circuit.
Artifact Storage Log #4 (Text Log)
In the same anti-gravity room, you go through the laser traps and you land on the second bridge where you grab the fourth Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Log that is floating next to the rails (near the exit door).
Artifact Storage Artifact #1 (Alien Artifact 09)
The Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Artifact can be found in the third zero gravity room. In order to get it you need the go up, through the lasers, and land on the top platform.
On one of the bridges sides you can observe a familiar dark alcove. You fly inside to get the Alien Artifact.
Artifact Storage Circuit #2 (+2 Damage +2 Clip)
As you exit the anti-grav environment, you turn left to find an engineering bench.
Next to the bench is the second Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Circuit.
Artifact Storage Circuit #3 (+2 Rate of Fire +2 Damage)
In the next room is the large supply cache that needs to be opened.
Inside it you can collect the third Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Circuit.
Artifact Storage Circuit #4 (+2 Rate of Fire +2 Clip)
The fourth Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Circuit can be found in the cache mentioned above.
Artifact Storage Circuit #5 (+2 Reload +2 Damage)
Also in the same cache, is the fifth Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Circuit.
Artifact Storage Circuit #6 (+2 Reload +2 Rate of Fire)
The sixth Dead Space 3 Chapter 17 Artifact Storage Circuit is tricky to get and easy to miss, because its in the area where you are attacked by two invulnerable Necromorphs.
When you reach the control box that needs to be hacked, you can see a short ladder in the opposite direction. You climb down, and next to the ladder is the fuse box with the Circuit collectible.
Assuming you grabbed all the Dead Space 3 collectibles mentioned in the guide, all that is left to do now is to open one last hieroglyph coded door in order to start Chapter 18.
