In Dead Island, the difference between a blunt weapon and a bladed weapon is that a blunt weapon damages a zombie with the help of blunt force, which usually causes fractures. A blunt weapon has no penetration points or cutting edges, but the amount of force that must be applied to these weapons is higher.
Just like the bladed weapons available in Dead Island, blunt weapons can be modified (upgraded) by adding one or more parts. This process requires money, a workbench, a basic blunt weapon, specific parts and the most important thing, a blueprint.
The following game guide addresses to all Dead Island players who wish to kill zombies with blunt weapons. It was created with the purpose of teaching them how to modify their weapons, where to find the blueprints needed to unlock new weapons, and the materials required for each upgrade.
While all characters in Dead Island can wield blunt weapons, only Sam B is specialized in using them with increased efficiency, since he is the only character who has the necessary force and skills; according to his skill tree.
Some basic blunt weapons available in Dead Island, are: mauls, pickaxes or sledgehammers; however it is hard to decide which one is the best; especially because most of them can be modified. Each modification brought to a blunt weapon, has a different effect on zombies; therefore only the player can decide which one is the most effective weapon in the game, based on his personal playing style.
