Bound By Flame The Disappeared Guards is one of the side-quests received from Mason, the leader of the Valvenor guard; therefore, the quest becomes available in the video game, after you reach the small village.
If you complete The Disappeared Guards, you will be able to earn more experience points as well as the Commandos Gauntlets.
This means that you should start the quest after you finish Problems Of Stewardship, and before you attempt to fight the Werebeast (A Village Of Refugees main quest).
Additionally, it is a good idea to finish The Duel and The Recruitment of Randval, because in The Disappeared Guards you will be sent to Swamp: Path Of the Ruins, which is a dangerous area.
The Duel and The Recruitment of Randval allow you to unlock a new companion, who has the ability to taunt the enemies, so you can focus on dealing damage.
Bound By Flame Walkthrough – The Disappeared Guards Quest
If you finished the quests mentioned above, open your map and from Valvenor, take the southern exit to enter Swamp: Path To Valvenor.
Order Randval to taunt all opponents, and head north towards Swamp: Path of Ruins.
When you encounter Chrysalids, while Randval keeps them busy, cast Burning Weapon and attack from behind. You can also cast Orb Of Fire for additional damage, or simply attack them while in Warrior Stance.
For Parasites and Whip Vines, make sure you attack from distance and cast Orb Of Fire.
The Impalers are also easier to defeat with Randval by your side, because their screeching attacks will be focused on him, allowing you to switch to Ranger Stance and move behind them.
If you have a strategy and learned how to fight these enemies, The Disappeared Guards can be very accessible, because all you have to do is to reach Swamp: Path of Ruins, then head east, following the marker on your map. When you reach the marked location you will find three corpses.
Loot all of them to get their equipment, and then return to Mason in the Center Of Village.
Talk to Mason and give him the equipment to complete the quest and collect your rewards.
