Bound By Flame Save Renko is a short and accessible side-quest available in the third act of the video game, and if you complete it you will be able to rescue the blacksmith from the second act.
As a reward for finishing Save Renko side-quest, you will be granted the possibility to purchase new items for your hero. Additionally, you will earn the corresponding amount of experience points (3900) and a new weapon named The Spine.
Save Renko however, is a side-quest that must be unlocked, by talking to Lyestas.
When you play The Lions Den main-quest, Lyestas will send you to find 6 crystals or artifacts for an amulet he can craft for your hero.
After you receive the objective of the main quest, you will also activate Improve The Camp’s Defenses side quest.
Without leaving the camp, talk to Lyestas again and ask him about the blacksmith. Next, open your quest log and you can notice that Save Renko side-quest became available.
Bound By Flame Walkthrough Save Renko Quest
Since Save Renko is a short quest which requires your presence in the Sewers, you should complete it immediately.
Tip: Take Mathras with you and order him to control the enemies.
Enter the Sewers through the door near the camp, and head to the Upper Waterworks.
Tip: All enemies you have to defeat while in the Sewers are similar to those you have fought earlier in the third act, and you should use the same tactics.
Descend the ladder to reach the lower level, and go around the central area to find Renko in the eastern tunnel. When you approach the blacksmith, stay alert because you will be attacked by a larger Bone Golem.
Tip: While Mathras casts his spells, activate Burning Weapon, and try to parry the golems melee attacks.
When you see the enemy casting a purple aura, step away or keep RT (Xbox) pulled because a powerful spinning attack will follow.
The moment you see the Bone Golem turning into an orb that falls on the ground, cast Burning Weapon and concentrate your attacks on the target.
Tip: Without the Burning Weapon, you will inflict less damage and the Golem might be able to regenerate.
Once you clear the area, talk to Renko and retrace your steps back to the camp to finish the side-quest.
