Bound By Flame Battle Of Egos Walkthrough

Bound By Flame Battle Of Egos is the fourth and final act in the video game developed by Spiders for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox 360.

Battle Of Egos includes only a boss fight, but at the end of the game you will have to make one of the most important decisions, which will affect the ending, as well as the corresponding achievements and trophies you can unlock.

Battle Of Egos begins the moment you decide to enter the rift that will take you to the Worldheart.

Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take a companion with you, meaning that you will fight the Demon alone.

Being the final boss in the game, the Demon is also the most powerful; therefore, the following guide was created to help you defeat him and complete the game.

Before entering the rift to face the consequences of your hero’s actions, it is a good idea to return to the Makeshift Camp and spend your money on arrows, traps and potions.

Tip: If you don’t have enough gold to spend, you should consider selling all materials and components you have gathered throughout the game.

The arrows and potions are the most important items because they can help you end the final battle faster and also survive on the battlefield. When you feel ready, step inside the rift and you will enter the Worldheart.

The path you have to follow to find the Demon is very accessible; however, first you will have to deal with the consequences of your actions and decisions. If you followed our walkthrough, then you will see the ghosts of Eolas, Sybil, Randval, Edwen and the Captain.

When you attack a ghost, you will notice that it will disappear and several guards will spawn nearby attacking you. The ghosts are weak enemies and you shouldn’t encounter any difficulties in killing them, if you focus on parrying their attacks.

After you find Edwen and deal with treason, climb the ledge nearby to face the Demon. Once the cutscene ends, get ready to fight the last boss. As you will notice, when fighting the Demon, your enemy will use three different attacks. His melee attacks are similar to those of a ranger and they can be blocked.

His ranged attacks can’t be blocked but they can be avoided by strafing left and right. The final attack inflicts AoE damage, and it is devastating.

Tip:  When you see the demon’s daggers turning white, hold RT (on Xbox) to guard the incoming attack. The demon will rush towards you and will try to hit you with his daggers. Parrying and trying to counter-attack at the right moment is required during this phase.

After a succession of hits, the Demon will try to step away and start casting a series of spells.

Tip: The white spheres of magic can’t be blocked but you can dodge them if you remain mobile. Assuming you have purchased a large number of arrows you should constantly shoot the demon while moving.

From time to time, you will see the boss dropping a series of 5 spheres around him. If you are in their range, the spheres will kill your hero. Their area of effect is small but they are extremely dangerous, so make sure you maintain a fair distance from your target.

Once you deal enough damage to the Demon, you will see him calling a large wyvern to aid him, which means that you won’t be able to attack the boss until you get rid of his creature. To make the creature leave the battleground, target the left arm, then the right arm, and finally the head.

You can opt to shoot arrows if you want to avoid taking damage, although the melee attacks will inflict more damage. The wyvern will enter the battlefield twice, so stay alert and ignore the boss when you see it.

Tip: As long as the wyvern is on the battlefield you can’t hurt the Demon.

The best strategy you can use to end the battle is to keep moving and shoot arrows. Try to go around the boss and constantly fire arrows when the wyvern appears. Attack the wyvern’s limbs and head, and then repeat.

The moment you defeat the boss, a new cutscene starts, and you will have to make the final and the most important decision.

No matter what you choose for your hero, the game will end, and all corresponding achievements and trophies will be unlocked.

  1. Some good tips but a couple of things: fire works really well against the dragon, and it shows up more than twice. Maybe it depends on how long you take to finish off the demon, but I had to fight it 4 times in the same battle.
