Principe is one of the final major locations you can unlock in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and the area you have to explore if you wish to find the buried chest revealed by the treasure map you retrieve from Anotto Bay.
Principe is located on the eastern side of your map, and it is unlocked by completing the game’s main sequences.
Similar to other locations in the video game, Principe includes a series of items you should collect if you want to get a 100% synchronization rate.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Principe Animus Fragments Locations
Animus Fragment 1
After you collect the first chest in Principe, move towards the jungle, in order to reach the inner camps. The first Animus Fragment is above the ground in a tree and you will see it before entering the first camp.
To collect the fragment, climb the tree that extends above to dirt path in the forest, pointing to the collectible. Use it as a ramp to reach the other trees and walk on the branches until you get near the fragment.
Animus Fragment 2
In order to retrieve the second fragment marked on the map, you need to get inside the second camp, located on the eastern coast.
The fragment is in another tree, high above the ground. To reach its location, climb the watchtower nearby and jump on the branch where the collectible is located.
Animus Fragment 3
The third fragment in Principe is easy to retrieve because it is located on a palm tree that extends above the ocean.
The collectible can be observed near the pirates’ dock, on the south-eastern coast. Stay away from your enemies and kill as many as you can. When you are near the fragment, climb the palm tree, and walk towards the other side. Perform a Leap of Faith in the ocean to collect the item.
Animus Fragment 4 & 5
The last two fragments in Principe are similar, meaning that you will have to jump into the ocean twice, in order to get them. Both collectibles are in the upper camp.
The fourth fragment is at the end of a tree. Walk on the tree and jump in the ocean below. After you get it, don’t fast travel to the viewpoint, because your enemies will respawn.
Instead, swim around and go back to the upper camp to get the last fragment which floats near a building. While facing it, move to the edge of the building and place Edward in the corner. Perform another Leap of Faith to get the item.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Principe Chests Locations
Chest 1
When you arrive in Principe, your ship will be docked on the north-western beach, where you can find the first chest. Look for it behind the rowboat and close to the water.
Inside are 134 Reales, a pearl (70 R) and a silver pitcher (60 R).
Chest 2
The second chest is several steps away from the first fragment, and near the white tent inside the small camp you will cross trying to reach the upper side of the area.
Inside the second chest you will find 219 Reales, a silver cross (90 R), and a porcelain charger (15 R).
Chest 3
For the third chest you have to get close to the first camp in Principe. The camp is surrounded by a large fence.
While facing the entrance, go right, around the camp, and pay attention to the right side, because you will have to find a tunnel inside the mountain. At the end of the tunnel, you will spot the chest containing 4 bullets and 312 Reales.
Chest 4
The fourth chest in Principe is inside the first camp. To get it, you will have to climb the watchtower near the gate that connects the upper camp with the one on the beach.
Make sure you deal with the pirates around the tower, and then climb the building to loot the chest for 159 Reales and a gold tiara (170 R).
Chest 5
Another chest that can be looted in Principe is Chest #5, located inside the eastern camp. Look for it behind a building, near a wooden structure; however, on your way towards the collectible, stay alert because there are many pirates inside the camp.
Remain on the roofs, and jump down when you are close to the chest. Inside it you will find a gold medallion (150 R), and 185 Reales.
Chest 6
The final chest is located in the upper camp, between two buildings, on the edge of the cliff. The chest contains 163 Reales, a silver mug (10 R), and a silver tiara (150 R).
