Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Mayan Stelae are side activities that can be completed during the game, in order to unlock a unique outfit for Edward Kenway.
The Mayan Outfit requires you to complete all Mayan Stelae puzzles.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag includes 16 Mayan Stelae, and the following guide explains how to complete all of them.
After the final Mayan Stela puzzle is finished, you can retrieve the Mayan Outfit which appears in Tulum.
Even though the Mayan Stelae are introduced when you reach Great Inagua, you can find the first one the moment you start the game, in Cape Bonavista; which, means that you don’t have to follow a specific order when you try to complete these puzzles.
A Mayan Stela puzzle is triggered by finding specific pillars on your map. Their locations, as all collectibles and side-activities, appear on your main-map the moment you synchronize a viewpoint nearby.
When you travel to the location of a Mayan Stela you will find a pillar made of stone on which you can climb. While standing on top of it, press the corresponding button to start the puzzle. After you complete it, look for a green dot on the ground that shows where you can locate a hidden Mayan Stone.
Since there are 16 Mayan Stelae in the game, you will have to collect 16 Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Mayan Stones. The stones are buried, and you will have to dig in order to collect them.

Fast-travel to the view-point located close to the icon which displays the location of the outfit. While standing on top of the viewpoint, look below and you will see a larger area similar to an arena.
Make sure you get to the said arena, and look around you to locate some stairs. Head up and turn left, then turn right to enter through a door (before reaching the haystack).
Continue to follow the tunnel to the right and you will enter the secret room where the Mayan Outfit is located.
