Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Mariguana Island is a small island and a secondary location featured in AC4, and it must be visited if you wish to get all collectibles in the video game, and to find all buried chests.
Mariguana Island is on the eastern side of the map and it can be accessed early in the game, but you should be aware that several British soldiers can be found in this location.
On Mariguana Island you can hunt boars, and you must retrieve 7 collectibles, one of them being a treasure map. The treasure map on Mariguana Island is very important because it reveals the location of a buried chest containing an upgrade plan for Jackdaw.

Animus Fragment 1
The first Animus Fragment you can collect on Mariguana Island is floating near the viewpoint.
If you synchronized the said viewpoint, fast travel to its location and perform a Leap of Faith in the water, to collect the fragment.
Animus Fragment 2
The second Animus Fragment is in the southern part of the island, and in a tree. Next to the tree are two smaller tree trunks.
Jump on them to climb the tree where the collectable is located.

Chest 1
North-east from the location where you have found the second Animus Fragment is the first chest. Look for it in a small cave under the two large rocks that for a passage. I
nside the chest are a cross made of silver (90 R) and 238 R.
Chest 2
Inside the second chest, you will find a gold medallion (150 R) and 124 R.
The collectable is located east from the first chest, on a small hill, partially covered by grass.
Chest 3
Close to the dock, in the northern side of the island you will find the last two chests. The third one is on the ground, under a structure made of wood. Inside the chest you will find a smoke bomb and 268 R.
Chest 4
Once you loot the third chest, turn right and you will see a ramp made of wood. Go up the ramp and look to the left to see the last chest, near some crates.
Inside it, you will find 161 R, a silver pocket watch (27 R), and a golden compass (75 R).

The final collectible and the most important item on Mariguana Island is a secret.
The secret is a treasure map which will lead you to a buried chest containing the upgrade plans for the elite harpoon and 3000 R.
First, pick up the treasure map from the cadaver standing under the two large rocks in the middle of the island. Open the map and you will see another island and the following coordinates: 579,720.
The Mariguana Island treasure map and the coordinates on it, point to Andreas Island. If you have unlocked the location, fast travel and go to the dock.
While facing the small village on Andreas Island, turn left and sprint towards the small patch of sand with three palm trees on it. On the solitary island you will also see a rock. Between the trees and the rock is the digging spot.
Retrieve the buried chest to and you will unlock the elite harpoon and you will also get 3000 R.
