Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Ile a Vache is a secondary location featured in the AC4 video game, and an island you should explore if you wish to complete all side activities.
Ile a Vache, or the Cow’s Island is a small location, yet very important because on the island you will be able to unlock a tavern, and two Assassin Contracts.
The tavern on Isle la Vache is on the western side of the island, and it is the largest building.
On its roof you will find one of the collectibles available in the region. Additionally, on the island you will find 2 secrets, one of them being a treasure map.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Ile a Vache Chests Locations
Chest 1 & 2
The first two chests on the island are located close to each other. You will find them on a smaller island, behind a large rock.
If you loot the first chest you will retrieve 213 R, a gold ring (100 R), and a prick of tobacco (5 R). Inside the second chest are 186 Reales and a gold medallion (150 R).
Chest 3
The third chest is located north from the tavern, next to a large rock, and close to the water. If you loot it you will receive 167 Reales and a silver pocket watch (27 R).
Chest 4
Inside the fourth chest you will find 132 Reales and a cross made of gold (150 R). The chest can be found near the rowboat on the northern beach.

Animus Fragment 1
The first AC4 Animus Fragment on Ile a Vache is located on the roof of the tavern.
It is an accessible collectible, which can be retrieved by climbing one of the trees near the tavern. Jump on the roof, while standing on the highest branch.
Animus Fragment 2
The second fragment is even more accessible than the previous one, being located on top of a downed palm tree. Simply jump on the tree’s trunk and walk towards the fragment.

Secret 1: Manuscript – “Cortez and La Malinche” from The History of Tlaxcla
The first secret you should retrieve on Ile a Vache is a manuscript located on the eastern beach. The collectible is inside a chest protected by two British soldiers.
Next to their camp is a bush you can use for cover, or if you prefer you can engage them in combat, and retrieve the manuscript after you kill them. The manuscript is a painting showing Herman Cortez.
Secret 2: Cadaver
The most important collectible on Ile a Vache is a treasure map that will lead you to another chest. The cadaver carrying the map is on the north-eastern beach, next to a small shipwreck and a barrel.
After you retrieve the map you will see the following coordinates: 565, 539. Furthermore, the treasure map on Ile a Vache shows a palm tree and several rocks.
The coordinates belong to a smuggler’s den known as Jiguey. After you travel to the location, you will have to get inside the den, and in the middle of the camp you will see the palm tree, and the rocks near it.
The buried treasure chest is located behind the rocks in the middle of the cave, and inside it you will find 4000 Reales.
