Gibara is also a location that must be conquered in order to collect all Animus Fragments and all chests, as well as to unlock another Naval Contract.
Since Gibara is a Naval Fort, it is imperative for you to make the necessary preparations, even if it is an accessible garrison.
After you manage to conquer it you will be able to play the Naval Contract 05: Silk On The Water, and to collect 2 chests and 2 Animus Fragments.
Furthermore, if you conquer the fort you will reveal all uncharted collectables in the area of the same name. The following guide explains how to find all four collectibles within the fort.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Gibara Chests Locations
The first collectible you should find is the chest in the southern area of the fort. Sprint to its location and look for it at the bottom of the large building, next to a green bush and to the building’s front wall.
After you get the first chest head all the way to the northern side of the fort and get close to the War Room you have accessed while attacking the stronghold.
While standing in front of the War Room, facing the main door, go right around the building and look for the second chest, near the wall and behind another bush.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Gibara Animus Fragments Locations
Animus Fragment 1
While standing near the bush where you have found the previous collectible, turn left and look behind the small wall to spot the first Animus Fragment, located on a wooden ledge.
Get on the roof to access the ledge and walk to its end to get the first Animus Fragment.
Animus Fragment 2
Next, return to the area in front of the War Room and descend one level by jumping over the front wall.
When you reach the lower level, approach the wall and look down to see another ledge and on it the second Animus Fragment.
Hop on the wall, and drop on the directly on the collectible.
