Dry Tortuga is a side-activity location in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and also one of the forts you need to conquer in order to reveal the world map.
Located in the north-western side of your main map, Dry Tortuga is an accessible fort that can be conquered immediately after you visit Nassau.
Unlike other locations, Dry Tortuga includes a small number of collectibles; however, to fully control the area you need to find and retrieve all of them.
Furthermore, you will also have to complete the Naval Contract 07: Private Escort, which is a difficult contract.
The following guide refers to the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Dry Tortuga collectibles and explains where to find them and how to collect each chest and Animus Fragment in the fort.
After you conquer Dry Tortuga, you will be able to reveal all uncharted collectibles around the naval fort. The area of the same name, includes 16 AC4 uncharted collectibles. Seven of them are Animus Fragments, and nine are chests.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Dry Tortuga Animus Fragments Locations
Animus Fragment 1
The first Animus Fragment in Dry Tortuga can be located in the central courtyard of the fort. You will find it on a wooden crane, and to get it you will have to perform a Leap of Faith.
Your landing point is the haystack below the crane.
Animus Fragment 2
From your current location (the haystack) look around to find the second Animus Fragment, in top of another wooden crane, which is located behind a demolished wall.
Get on top of the crane and move to its end to get the fragment. Now, perform a Leap of Faith in the haystack below.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Dry Tortuga Chests Locations
Chest 1
After you collected the second fragment, assuming that you landed in the haystack, look around and you should see a building.
Go around the building (left side while facing it) and near the backdoor you will find the first chest containing 175 R and a gold pocket watch (100 R).
Chest 2
For the second chest, you will have to reach the tower where you destroyed one of the forts’ cannons. Travel to the marked location and use the crates nearby to climb the wall. The chest is in the corner and inside it you will find 189 R and a wood figurine (20 R).
