Mafia 3 Junction Boxes are the most important collectibles you need to find while playing the action-adventure video game developed by Hangar 13.
Their role is to help Donovan mark important items on your map such as Targets of Opportunity and all collectibles (Album Covers, Communist Propaganda, Hot Rod Magazines, Playboy Magazines, Vargas Paintings, and Repent Magazines).
Additionally, the Junction Boxes allow you to recruit Racket Bosses and to see unknown enemies in Intel View.
Mafia III includes a total of 89 Junction Boxes you need to wiretap and the following guide was created to help you locate them faster, using a series of maps, hints and a video showing all of them.
These collectibles become available the moment you complete the game’s prologue meaning that you can start looking for them as soon as you enter New Bordeaux; however, they are properly introduced while playing The Way of Flesh story mission.
During the said mission, Donovan will explain how to wiretap a Junction Box and the advantages offered by these collectibles.
How to Wiretap a Junction Box in Mafia III
In order to wiretap a Junction Box in Mafia 3 you need 3 fuses, which can be found all over the city. Without fuses you won’t be able to wiretap a Junction Box.
Since the game includes 89 Junction Boxes, it means that you will need 267 fuses to wiretap all of them.
The fuses also appear on your map after you wiretap a Junction Box and their locations are marked by green dots.
Make sure you start collecting them early in the game because you need an impressive amount to wiretap the whole city.
Assuming you have enough fuses, approach a Junction Box and you will trigger a minigame which has three steps.
For the first step, you will need to move the left thumbstick to find the spot that allows you to pry open the Junction Box. Move the thumbstick and locate the smallest green bar possible.
Now, press the X button on Xbox One or Square on PlayStation 4.
Last, hit the X button on Xbox One or Square on PlayStation 4 the moment you see the moving indicator reaching the green area.
Keep in mind that the smaller is the spot you find during the first step, the bigger will be the green area in the third step of the minigame.
Once you complete the minigame, the Junction Box is wiretapped and every Mafia 3 collectible close to it will be marked on your map along with the fuses you need to collect.

Delray Hollow Junction Boxes Locations
In Delray Hollow, you need to wiretap 5 Junction Boxes in order to make all Mafia 3 collectibles from this region visible on your map.
Junction Box 1
The first Junction Box on the map above is wiretapped when you play The Way of Flesh story mission.
You can’t miss it since it’s an important objective you receive from Donovan.
Junction Box 2
The second Junction Box in Delray Hollow is located in the upper left corner of the map above. Look for it on the left wall of the Best Oil car service, while facing the main entrance.
Junction Box 3
The third Junction Box is located in the central area of the Delray Hollow neighborhood, as you can see on the map above. Check the backyard and look for it near a door.
Try to wiretap it in order to spy on Doug “Hatchet” Marcheti while playing one of the Smack missions.
Junction Box 4
Cross the street from the previous Junction Box and you will find the fourth one in Delray Hollow.
First look for the Everyday Laundromat building and then check the alley on the left side of the building while facing the entrance.
Junction Box 5
The last Junction Box in Delray Hollow is located in the southern region. Reach the location using our map above, then look for the Perfect Waffle restaurant.
Now, go around the building and search the building’s walls.
River Row Junction Boxes Locations
The moment you reach River Row, the area featured in Mafia 3, you should focus on finding all Junction Boxes revealed by our map above, as they will help you a lot while working on the missions in this New Bordeaux district.
Junction Box 1
The first River Row Junction Box is in the northern part of the area.
Make sure you have enough fuses and look for it on the exterior wall of Rigolet’s warehouse.
Junction Box 2
The second Junction Box is very easy to locate. It is outside Benny’s Ristorante Italiano, right near the front entrance.
You will get here while looking for Vito.
Junction Box 3
The third Mafia 3 River Row Junction Box should be wiretapped while working on destroying the Union Trailers.
It is located on the exterior back walls of a large gray building, near a dumpster.
Junction Box 4
If you cross the street from the United Dock Workers building you should see a garage. Go around it to spot the fourth Junction Box on our map above.
It is located near a green door.
Junction Box 5
When you get close to Dominik’s Sugar building, check the southern side, and you will find the fifth Junction Box mapped above.
Look for it next to some brown crates and yellow pipes on the wall.
Junction Box 6
The sixth Junction Box in River Row, can be found in the western side, near a medical truck you have to steal or destroy.
Use our map to reach the location and look for it in the corner of the red building next to an entrance.
Junction Box 7
When you are hunting down “Stitch” Gallo, make sure you wiretap the seventh Junction Box on our map.
You will find it in the corner of the large Lunette Billiard building.
Junction Box 8
Near the Tugboat Bar is the eighth Junction Box you have to wiretap in River Row, assuming you follow our map.
Make sure you do this while completing the Union Extortion objective, and look for it behind a garage and several white barrels.
Junction Box 9
The last Junction Box on our River Row map should be wiretapped while looking for Nestor Pellegrini. He will be your target during a Contraband mission.
The Junction Box is in the backyard of the building you see on our map, next to some bushes.
Pointe Verdun Junction Boxes Locations
Pointe Verdun, the third area included in our Mafia 3 guide, also includes 7 Junction Boxes you have to wiretap, as you can see above.
Junction Box 1
The first Junction Box on the map, is located on the exterior wall of the Bail Bonds by Wons building.
Look for it on the alley to the right, as you face the entrance.
Junction Box 2
For the second Junction Box, you have to look for a large building which is owned by Caesar De Angelis.
You should find it while taking out one of his moonshine operations. The Junction Box is also on an alley, at the base of some stairs leading inside the building.
Junction Box 3
The third Junction Box in Pointe Verdun is fairly easy to find because it is close to the street. Look for a white building and you will see it near some wooden crates.
Junction Box 4
After you reach the fourth location on the map above, look for a blue building and go around it to see the Junction Box on one of the exterior walls.
Junction Box 5
For the fifth Junction Box, make sure you first find the Pearl Edge motel. Next, look for the box on the exterior wall that is facing the parking lot.
The motel is colored in green and the box is near several dumpsters.
Junction Box 6
The sixth Junction Box marked on our Pointe Verdun map is located behind Frederic’s Delicatessen building. Check the backyard near the garage doors.
Junction Box 7
The final Junction Box in this area is under the highway. Look for a parking lot and while entering the premise, turn left to see the box on the wall of a gray garage, next to a white fridge.
Barclay Mills Junction Boxes Locations
Before starting the missions in Barclay Mills, make sure you wiretap all 10 Junction Boxes.
By doing this, you will be able to see all enemies that will wait for you and find additional Targets of Opportunity to increase the amount of cash you will receive at the end of the missions you have to beat in this area.
Junction Box 1
When you get to the first location on our map check the large warehouse and look for the Junction box on the wall close to the road.
Junction Box 2
The second Barclay Mills Junction Box on our map above is on the exterior wall (facing the road) of a water treatment facility building.
Junction Box 3
Search the western wall of the Best Oil garage for the fourth Junction Box on our map. You will find it close to the parking lot, next to a green door.
Junction Box 4
On the wall of the warehouse marked by 4 on our map you will find a new Junction Box. The wall is opposed to the river.
Junction Box 5
The fifth Barclay Mills Junction Box is on the eastern side of a gray building with 3 floors. You can see it while walking on the alley near the said building.
Junction Box 6
East from the previous Junction Box, look for the sixth. It is on a smaller building (blue) close to the bridge that leads to Frisco Fields. Next to the box is a phone booth.
Junction Box 7
Another Junction Box (7) can be found close to a large garage in the eastern part of Barclay Mills. While facing the garage, look left to see a large building with a Red Draft billboard on the roof.
Now, check the alley between the building and the said garage.
Junction Box 8
The eighth Junction Box is on a gray building in the rail yard. You should see it on the wall facing the train tracks, next to two green dumpsters.
Junction Box 9
When you reach the ninth location on our map look for a white building with a Black Suit billboard on the roof. The Junction Box is on the wall facing the corner of the street.
Junction Box 10
The tenth Barclay Mills Junction Box on our Mafia 3 map above is close to a radio tower. Near the tower, is a small building and the box is on the wall facing the road and the bar across the street.
Downtown Junction Boxes Locations
Even if it’s a smaller neighborhood, Downtown includes 10 Mafia III Junction Boxes that must be wiretapped; and you should do this the moment you enter this area, following the game’s main missions.
All Downtown Junction Boxes locations can also be seen on the map above, and the following hints will help you find them faster.
Junction Box 1
Following our map, travel to the location marked by 1 and you will find the first Junction Box in the northwestern corner of the Royal Hotel.
Junction Box 2
The second box is in a gas station. Go around the building and you will see it in the corner, next to a blue door.
Junction Box 3
For the third Downtown Junction Box, you have to be extra careful because it’s located inside a police station.
The box is in the backyard so try approaching its location coming from the river. You can distract the cops with Zemis or you can take them out one by one.
Junction Box 4
Fairly easy to find, the fourth Junction Box is on an alley between two buildings, from which one of them has 4 floors.
Junction Box 5
The next Junction Box (5 on our map) is in an underground parking lot of a large building. The entrance is west from the said building, as you look at your in-game map.
Junction Box 6
North from the previous box is the sixth. It is located behind a fence in the backyard of a restaurant named Giuliani’s.
Junction Box 7
The seventh Downtown Junction box is on the left side of the driveway that leads to a parking lot. Look to your left while moving from the street towards the parking area.
Junction Box 8
Also on an alley is the eighth Junction Box. The alley is between a large church and a red building. It is extremely easy to find.
Junction Box 9
In the upper left corner of our map you can see the ninth Downtown Junction Box.
It can be found in the driveway of a cinema. Look to your left while walking inside the passage.
Junction Box 10
The last Junction Box in Downtown area is in the upper right corner of our map.
First find the Best Oil Auto Service station we have marked, and then move around the building to spot the box in the back corner.
Frisco Fields Junction Boxes Locations
Being a larger district, Frisco Fields includes 11 Junction Boxes that must be wiretapped. If you want to do this earlier in the game, feel free to use our locations map above and the following hints.
Junction Box 1
Look for this Junction Box in the southern part of the district. You should find it on the right side of the walking bridge which connects Frisco Fields and Downtown.
Junction Box 2
The next Junction Box is on the exterior wall of a round church. While standing in front of the entrance, turn left and move around the building to see the box on your right side.
Junction Box 3
Southeast from the previous box you will find the third. Look for it on the exterior wall of a red warehouse, on an alley.
Enter the alley through the gate and you will see it on your right side behind a pole.
Junction Box 4
On the exterior wall of a Griffin service station you will find the fourth Junction Box on our map. It is near a blue door facing the fuel pumps.
Junction Box 5
When you reach the Retrousse Yacht Club arched gate, check the right wall to spot the fifth Frisco Fields Junction Box. It is next to the green door which leads to the security office.
Junction Box 6
The sixth Junction Box you have to wiretap in Frisco Fields is in the northwestern region between two shacks, inside a camp.
Junction Box 7
In the middle of the district is another Junction Box as you can see on our map. It is on an alley behind the Thrift Mart building.
Junction Box 8
The eighth Junction Box on our map is on the exterior wall of a large and luxurious mansion. To find it, while facing the building, move left and look for a brick wall.
Junction Box 9
Another Junction Box can be observed south from the previous one. Just like the fourth one in this area, it is located near the blue door of another Griffin service station.
Junction Box 10
Very easy to locate, Junction Box #10 on our map, can be found on the southern wall of an apartment building. Circle around the building and you should see it between two windows.
Junction Box 11
The last Junction Box in Frisco Fields is behind the Fareham Grocery store. Again, move around the building and you will spot it behind a large green dumpster and a smaller fence.
Tickfaw Harbor Junction Boxes Locations
In Tickfaw Harbor you need to wiretap 9 Junction Boxes to see all Mafia 3 collectibles in the district. Their locations can be seen on out Tickfaw Harbor map above.
Junction Box 1
The first Junction Box on our map is on the exterior wall of a warehouse in the harbor. You should see it between two green dumpsters.
Junction Box 2
The second Junction Box we have mapped is also on the exterior wall of a warehouse next to the large doors on the south end.
Junction Box 3
Another Junction Box, can be found in the middle of the district, but this time it is close to a blue warehouse. Look for it behind a large container.
This warehouse must be investigated while completing the objectives for the “Hot Rubber & Cold Blood” mission.
Junction Box 4
South from the previous one you will find the fourth Junction Box on our map. It’s located on the ground floor of a parking lot with multiple levels. You should see it on your right side if you use the main entrance.
Junction Box 5
In Port Bourbon, you will find another Junction Box (5 on our map), located on the southern wall of a red warehouse.
Junction Box 6
If you continue to follow our order, you should find the sixth Junction Box in the corner of a large red building next to a round storage tank.
Junction Box 7
The seventh Tickfaw Harbor Junction Box on our map is on the northern wall of a gray rail yard building, close to a container.
Junction Box 8
For the eighth box, check the backside of a white building with two brown containers in the backyard.
There are also several wooden crates nearby.
Junction Box 9
The last Junction Box in Tickfaw Harbor can be found on the exterior wall of a blue and white warehouse. This warehouse is filled with stolen cars you have to destroy during one of the game’s story missions.
French Ward Junction Boxes Locations
Similar to the previous district, French Ward includes 9 Junction Boxes, their locations being revealed on the map above.
Junction Box 1
The first Mafia III French Ward Junction Box is on the front side wall of the Griffin station. It’s extremely easy to locate.
Junction Box 2
The second box on our map is on the side wall of a small building, near two dumpsters. Check the residential alley to spot the said building.
Junction Box 3
For the third Mafia III French Ward Junction Box, find the Pawn & Loan store marked on our map and search the backyard, then the white exterior wall of the store.
Junction Box 4
On the exterior wall of a red building you will find the fourth box marked on our map. Make sure you search the alley behind the building. Notice that it has some ramps.
Junction Box 5
The fifth box is close to some stairs, at the end of a walkway. Close to the box you can see a building with green stores above windows.
Junction Box 6
To find the sixth box on our map, first locate the Super Rocket Diner building, then circle around it. The box is on the backside wall.
Junction Box 7
The next Junction Box is at the end of a narrow alley, behind a gray house. Walk down the alley, then turn right to see it around the corner of the said building.
Junction Box 8
The eighth Junction Box is on the back wall of the police station. Use Zemis to distract the cops and look for it near a gray bench.
Junction Box 9
North from the previous box, as you can see on our map, is the last one in this district. You should see it on the exterior wall of a small shed, in the backyard of a large pink mansion.
Southdowns Junction Boxes Locations
We focus now on the Southdowns district of New Bordeaux, where 9 Mafia III Junction Boxes must be wiretapped.
Junction Box 1
The first Junction Box on our map for the Southdowns district is on the upper island. You will find it near the stairs that lead to the docks.
Just descend the stairs and look for it one the left side wall.
Junction Box 2
The second box is on the outside wall of Neil A. Arthur Stadium. When you reach the location on our map, look for it under the covered walkway, in the corner, near several dumpsters.
Junction Box 3
The third Junction Box on our map is on the exterior walls of a Bayside Shipping warehouse. Without entering the courtyard, look for it near a red toilet, close to the parking lot.
Junction Box 4
The next Junction Box in Southdowns District is very easy to find because it’s on an alley near the NB Liquors store.
While facing the store, check the alley on the left side and you will spot it on the wall of a garage next to a green dumpster.
Junction Box 5
For the fifth Junction Box in this district, and on our map, first find the Chatham Ship n Store building and very close to it you should see a red building.
Just circle around it and you will find the Junction Box on an exterior wall between two windows.
Junction Box 6
The next Junction Box is on an alley. More precisely, on the wall of a small utility building, between two green campers.
Junction Box 7
For the next Junction Box, you have to enter the courtyard of a police station so use Zemis to distract the cops.
You will find it behind the security office near the courtyard’s side gate.
Junction Box 8
Extremely easy to find, the eighth Junction Box is located on the exterior wall of the large train station we have marked above.
It is in a small entrance, on the wall facing the train tracks near a bench.
Junction Box 9
The last Junction Box is on the wall of Zachary Taylor High, which is a school. Enter the courtyard and look for it on the wall facing the basketball court.
The box hence the wall, are covered by a roof sustained by multiple pillars and arcades.
Bayou Fantom Junction Boxes Locations
The final district included in our complete Mafia III Junction Boxes locations guide is Bayou Fantom, which is probably the most difficult area in the game because of the terrain and the poorly developed environment.
Nevertheless, you need to find 10 Junction Boxes in this district if you wish to wiretap the whole city.
Junction Box 1
The first Bayou Fantom Junction Box is in the upper right corner of our map and it can be found on the exterior wall of a garage behind Tago filling station.
Close to the box you will see several large tires.
Junction Box 2
For the second box, travel to the location we have marked and look for it near the door of the largest house. It is on the porch.
Junction Box 3
The third Junction Box is on the exterior wall of the Best Oil workshop, close to two crates. Just circle around the building to spot it.
Junction Box 4
Another box can be found on the southern wall of a cabin, if you follow our map. Again, circle wound the shack and you will find it near the backdoor.
Junction Box 5
The fifth Junction Box is west from the previous one, where you will find a train depot. Look on the wall facing the street.
Junction Box 6
On the north wall of a very large boathouse, which was marked on our map above, you will find the sixth Junction Box. Don’t enter the courtyard.
Instead check the right side while facing the entrance.
Junction Box 7
Following our map above, you will find the seventh Junction Box on the wall of a house very easy to identify, because it has a water tower on the roof.
When you enter the courtyard, the said house should be on your left side, while the box is in the backyard, on the wall facing the swamp.
Junction Box 8
The eighth box is even easier to find because it is located on the bridge you have to find when you are playing a story mission.
One of your objectives will be to sabotage a paddleboat, and on this bridge you will have to plant explosives. The box is on the left wall.
Junction Box 9
The ninth location on our map, marks a large water tower and another Junction Box. When you get close to the tower look for a small utility building (gray) and near the door is the box you have to wiretap.
Junction Box 10
The last Junction Box included in our guide, is attached to warehouse wall. The warehouse (marked above) is close to the waterfront and the box is on the wall opposed to the water (back side of the building).
